Well seeing that the Reps use the same policies on the economy as Dems, it's not shocking that they would want the focus to be on other things... Just like Obama would rather make the "debate" about gun laws being constitutional rather than why Obamacare and massive never ending stimulus seem to be making things worse. Reps would rather talk about who should be allowed to get married.... despite no constitutional authority there either.

I see a few people correctly identified that the media will not help the GOP with their message. The GOP has a number of problems with controlling the debate, chief among them can be found right here on this and any political forum.

The supporters of the GOP simply log on to insult Liberals.

The supporters of the GOP simply log on, tune in, and shout out only on the message the liberals are talking about.

The supporters of the GOP cannot help themselves, and seem to Me to be as dumb as the liberals claim they are.

You do NOT control the message by responding to your opponent.
You do NOT control the message by acknowledging your opponent.

You DO control the message when you speak of your vision, and your vision only.
You DO control the message when you speak of the benefits of your vision, and your vision only.
You DO control the message when you can show, through your message, a life that is better for the average Joe.

This is NOT what anyone in the GOP is doing.

If you wonder why the GOP has lost 5 of the last 6 popular votes is because Americans dont care about the debt and realize its a problem without a solution based in Washington. Our elected officials need more than 2-6 years to fix it but elections dictate that they propose half assed solutions that do nothing on one hand and realize that the next Congress/President will overturn their "cuts".

Americans vote on issues that Congress and the POTUS can change. And the GOP is on the wrong side of most issues.

The left is COMPLETELY controlling the dialog. And that dialog is limited to bullshit social issues.

Very little if any talk about jobs or the economy. The economy affects every American but instead everyone is arguing over issues that only affect a small minority.

Just goes to show how much they intend to fix the economy and how confident they are about their solution to do so.

The GOP does not put a plan on the table. They don't have the balls to do that and then defend their plan. Instead, they take the coward's way out and attack the other guy who did have the balls to put a plan on the table.

That is why the Democrats controlled the agenda. They put plans on the table, while the GOP did not.

The GOP is about tactics, not strategy. And their tactics are nothing but slinging manufactured bullshit into the mouths of their parroting minions.

When they are not dissolving towns, getting rid of Unions and undoing votes on a state level, they are trying to install religion, outlaw abortion, roll back civil rights, roll back access to birth control, and creating laws that allow people to settle disputes with their shootin' irons.

Republicans just make it too damned easy for Democrats to lable them as batshit crazy extremists. Every time a fringe Republican opens his (or in the case of Bachmann her) mouth the Dems get to laugh and mock and avoid core economic issues

What Republicans have failed to do is convince Americans that they are interested in their problems and are not just out to help the wealthy. Dems kill them on that issue and Republicans do nothing to prove otherwise
