The Left has been wrong about every issue for 40 years. Yeah, we spent a trillion dollars on a shovel ready stimulus. Yeah we imposed harsh regulations on banking and finance. Yeah we bailed out a bunch of banks, lenders, and auto companies and trashed the rule of law. Yeah we kept interest rates at near zero levels, decimating older middle class people who rely on interest income. Yeah, we increased transfer payments in welfare and food stamps to historic highs. And none of those produced any reasonable recovery.
So the problem is we didnt do enough. Or the GOP blocked it. Or BUSH!

You do realize that in March 1978 the labor force participation rate was at an all time high? That while it's now the lowest since March 1978,, it's higher than any time before then? huh...why do people always leave that out? Oh, and that it's been going down since 2000. that's left out too.
