From a purely artistic standpoint, "Runaway Jury (John Cusak, Gene Hackman, and Dustin Hoffman)" is one of the finer movies I've seen in years. Unfortunately, and-of course-quite predictably-every nuance of the filmmakers' art is used to advance the left- wing political agenda.
A brisk pace and fascinating plot keep the film from tipping it's ideological hand in the early going. Soon enough, though, "Runaway Jury" becomes little more than a well-dressed, two hour harangue against guns, gun owners, gun dealers, gun manufacturers, and the Second Amendment.
It's not so bad with movies like Rob Reiner's piece of shit, "The Contender". That thing is so nakedly biased, any thinking person would double over laughing or reaching for a vomit bag. It is a wonderfully unintentional farce.
But, the very fact that "Runaway Jury" is so well done, gives it bias of a more insidious nature. Too bad. Hooray for Hollywood.
