Russia gives France puppy to replace killed police dog

MOSCOW (AP) — Russian police have handed over a puppy to the French ambassador in Moscow to replace a French police dog killed in a raid, a show of solidarity with France in the aftermath of the Paris attacks.

Diesel, the 7-year-old Belgian shepherd killed in a French police raid targeting the suspected mastermind of the Paris attacks in November, has been honored all over the world.

On Monday, Russia's Interior Ministry gave the German shepherd puppy named Dobrynya after a Russian fairy-tale knight to French Ambassador Jean-Maurice Ripert.

Ripert praised the gift as "a gesture that comes from the heart," adding that "it shows the relations between Russia and France quite well."

Why didn't we think of that? Oh. Wait.

Puppies! Yes, he does. And he is winning friends. How come we are still being laughed at? Oh. Wait.

heh this was posted a while back. Putin sure knows how to play the game.
I wish Obama was kind like Vladimir Putin. What a wonderful leader of his country. He looks out for the interest of the Russian people. He doesn't hate his Country and countrymen.

Donald Trump loves America and Americans. In fact, all the GOP candidates love the true Americans among us.

Oooooo you're going to get called a Nazi-fascist-non-American now son... But yea I know what you mean. It's nice to see someone who loves their country, I don't think the US has had one of those for a good while, maybe Bush or even Clinton, but they both kind of lacked the "full package" of charisma and intelligent passion that Putin seems to have.

Be nice the the dog, leave it at home, where it belongs...

You're an odd bird Paint. You post something negative to everything anyone says about anything... I do hope that your life isn't as conflicted as your posting makes it seem.

Is Paint in this thread? I can't see him. Thank you USMB for the ignore feature!

Every leader loves their country and countrymen, except ours. It's really sad and depressing.

@ Paint - heh I suppose I can understand that, I'm oft astounded by the unintelligence of people myself. I suppose I just have more... patience perhaps, I don't get worked up, upset, or angry very often because I don't particularly care what others think, feel, or believe in. Still, if it makes you happy, or makes you feel as though you're helping someone, more power to ya. My husband likes to vent too, most of the time I don't yell at him for it ;)

Gracie - Yesh heh

My country right or wrong is depressing, and tribal.

I don't fully agree that Obama hates America, not that I particularly like Obama for the disaster he's been for the country (I'm a capitalist and the US is financially /fucked/ right now), but I guess I see him as a progressive socialist; like he loves the country's name and perhaps even it's potential future, but not it's history kind of thing. Hard to explain right...

I live in a hell of people like those here but I do just fine, thanks all the same...
I am so glad to hear that. Is your hell the reason why you are such a coward?
I fear nothing at all, including death, my little man...
