I'd be obliged if the government would leave my employer alone. This constant push to legislate employee benefits is having the effect that, although our business and customer base is growing, instead of moving their current employees up to more hours (which would make them full-time and eligible for benefits), they just hire more part-timers, and cover any extra hours on an as-needed basis. I would love to work more hours in the week, but thanks to the government's meddling and making it more of a pain in the ass than it's worth for my company, I don't have that option.
Who's going to pay for it? Your employer. It's part of the cost of doing business. They're the people who are benefitting from your labour.
Workers who take vacations are more alert, more productive. They come back refreshed and energized.
It's always laughable to me that Republicans, who promote themselves as the party of family values, don't promote vacations, maternity and family leave. They oppose the ACA, early childhood education and more money for education - while sending their own kids to private schools.
Republicans oppose any measures to help families.
