Schools Allow Only The Liberal Side...

His school can block whatever websites it chooses.

----------------------------
MaoTseTung, Karl Marx, Josef Goebbels and that moron in North Korea all agree!

Like it or not, schools do block sites they deem inappropriate for kids, tough shit...if you don't like it....kids would be looking at porn every chance they could if they had access to it...even at school...but they can read on how to make an atom bomb...

How idiotic. I think we can all agree students should have porn sites blocked. The republican web site isn't porn. Good grief. Scared the kid might have a different opinion than yours?

If a student was looking up a gun website at school, I'd be concerned.

He reported that the Republican Party Wed Site was blocked, but the Democratic Web Site was not.

Address that, if you can.

Where's the evidence? Even on USMB there's never a day goes by when some liberal's assertion provokes a RWer demand for a link, for evidence, for proof.

How about you hold this kid to the same standard?

Hey dumbass....the school district didn't deny it.

And you need to make up your mind what your defense to this outrage to the American Way is going to be.

A while back in this thread you were saying the school board ought to be able to do what it wants to.

This school board allowed the Democratic Party Web site, and blocked the Republican Party Web Site. Did you decide you didn't want to defend that, and so now you are going to pretend it didn't happen?

There ought to be a time when you stop just being all Democrat all the time...and try to just be an American.

Shouldn't school boards be allowed to run their districts' schools as they see fit, provided they comply with applicable state and federal laws?

I mean, they are locally elected representatives. I thought conservatives liked the idea of more power down at the local level...

I'll take that stunned silence as a 'yes'. lol

------------------------------------------

Are you actually claiming that schools in a Democratic District can set their computers to allow their students to read the Democratic Party Website, but not the Republican Party Web Site.

That's the stunned silence. Mao is proud of you. The Jeffersonians...not so much.

If you don't want them to have that power, do you want the federal government to step in?

Only the FBI.

It appears to me that ironically, once again, when it suits them, the conservatives would like the big central government to impose its will over local governments and force them to provide internet access as the big central government planners see fit.

What makes you think that? I think the school can get internet access without the federal government.

No, I asked why you conservatives didn't want to allow the school district to be able to do what it wants to, within the law.

Did you ever actually take a position on that?

People here are saying that the school district ought not be ALLOWED to do this, so,

who is the authority that should be able to stop them?

What if they blocked the DNC's website, HuffPo, Planned Parenthood, and other bastions of liberal thought? Something tells me you wouldn't be so cavalier.

Say, here's an idea: Let's let the kids see all kinds of political material, and let them make their own minds up.

You up for that? Or are you afraid they'll make wrong decisions?

I notice you were careful as usual not to commit to an actual position.

I'll let you dodge the issue twice then. Should it be left up to the elected officials of the local school board or not?
It's funny the way you think you can dictate what the issue is. Why do you oppose children seeing all views? That is, of course, the issue here.

If the school district favors one political party and blocks access to the other, do you agree with that? How about the people who pay for the education decide.

So in reality, you're conceding that the school district should have the power to run its internet as it sees fit.

Ummm...it's far more "big central government" to decide which ideas are allowed and which are forbidden. Progressives love that shit.

For the life of me, I can't understand why you consider yourself intelligent.

I don't. I would expect someone would go to court and get that evil unelected judiciary at the Supreme Court if necessary to force the long arm of the big central government down on them and force them to run their internet as they're told.

Once again, you snipe while concealing your own position, which means of course that your position is that big government should rule in this case,

but only because you think you'd like the outcome.

I'm guessing you weren't quite as pleased with outcome in Kitzmiller v. Dover.

Not as it sees fit. Run it fairly. You don't want that. You guys are always preaching fairness. Well?

In order to assure that you have to take away some of the school district's sovereignty. Who gets to take it away?

The Supreme Court?
