All a democracy is two foxes in a hen house voting for what to eat for dinner

You should figure out the proportions. Then factor in non-participation in a midterm election, margins of victory and so on. Teapers are reactionaries and can't see the big picture. A lameduck midterm election was one. Obama still does as he pleases and can control the tempo of anything that happens in DC. It is a lead or shut up time...can the GOP do it...I hope so, but with the teapers involved...I am betting it turns into more obstructionism, manufactured controversy and hate politics...handing 2016 to a Clinton.Democrats don't have the intelligence to understand the concept that there is an unequal number of people in the various states with various ratios of democrats, republicans, and independents. They really don't understand even simple math. Which is a testament to liberal education systems. Then get out. Move to canada. The American system of government is fcked up.Do you need a civics lesson too? Whomever wins the majority of votes, wins the Senate seat. You can't get more democratic than that.
The states are not democratically configured. Two senators from Alaska with as much power as two senators from NY, or CA, or TX. It's silly.
That's because we are a Constitutional Republic not a democracy.
Senators represent their States, the House represents their people from each State.
We are a democracy because the power to change the Constitution still rests in the hands of the People, which is what a democracy is.
The assumption that a state with a small population should have its People be given disproportionate power in the federal government makes no sense,
but the nature of the colonies in the 18th century made the task of uniting them one that required some ultimately nonsensical contrivances.
House...
Senate...
Understand the difference.
Then get out. Move to canada. The American system of government is fcked up.Yes. It's bad. Any system that is contrived to thwart the will of the people is bad.

Rhode Island gets as many seats as Texas. Excuse #347The State of Wyoming with 500,000 people gets two Senators
The State of California with 40 million people gets two Senators
That is why the Dems get more votes and fewer Senators
The goal of the Republican party is to have an election, not get one single Republican vote, yet the Republican candidate is declared the winner and takes office. Of course, people will wonder, but all done according to law. Gotta hand it to Republicans, always thinking of how to win when most people vote for Democrats.
The American system of government is fcked up.
The problem is that our Constitutional Republic does not have the iron clad guarantees to protect our rights.
All we need is the greedy majority (usually only a plurality) to vote in shitheads like Obama to rob us and take away our freedom and we don't have the courage to do anything about it.

A democracy does not give rights to the minority.

The only two things left for us to become a full democracy is changing the Senate and the electoral college.
Once that happens the people who vote for Dems has absolute power It assures that the popular vote always goes to the Dem's

Your reply has absolutely nothing to do with what I posted. If that was your intent, well done.
The cream of the Liberal crop...Lahotka withdrew his thanks, but Synthaholic, Old School and Bily000 added theirs.Star and Laknota thanked that brilliant post about Gerrymandering states. Brilliant!
Occupied, the poster of the brilliant comment of state Gerrymandering is joined by other luminaries.![]()
Do you even know why we have a Senate? That's what being a Republican is all about; the few rule the many.
That's why we have the House of Representatives, silly boy.Yes. It's bad. Any system that is contrived to thwart the will of the people is bad.
