They couldn't have gotten together a group of Muslims to do a rally or non-violent protest because the vast Majority of Muslims would ignore the event, and, on top of that, normal, ordinary Muslims would not go to protest such an event because they would be AFRAID of the people running and attending the event: the ordinary Muslim people would be afraid they would be hurt.
