The working class in America does sometimes protest but in general, at the moment, most workers are simply trying to survive and they're not as organized as they once were in the past. Back in the early 1900s, in the 1930s, millions of American workers were unionized and they did protest and strike.

There was a time when the working class was much more organized than it is today, and they did take to the streets in mass protests.
