Should a Jewish Bakery Have the Right to Deny...

Because we have laws on the books about how your business must operate. Pray as you wish, to whom you wish, but when we ask for your permits you'd better have them and God said I didn't need them isn't going to fly down at City hall.

And when we live in a totalitarian State that makes all our choices for us, then you will be happy?
Nope, I'm a Liberal. I believe strongly in Freedom, in Liberty. I also know that both have limitations, and I deal with them unlike the children here crying to Mommy about how unfair that is.
Liberty for what? As parsed by WHOM?

Liberty is an all or nothing proposition. YOU have stated in this thread that many laws are EXTRA CONSTITUTIONAL...which tells me that you know ZIP, ZERO, NADA of the Founding and why the Constitution exists in the first place...and it wasn't for government to run roughshod over liberty of the individual which YOU have repeatedly stated otherwise. Make up your mind. YOU agree with LAW when it suits the LIBERAL agenda...YOU are a phony. A shill, a tool...and not very bright.

You're not a liberal, you're an authoritarian leftist. A true liberal would never force anyone to do business with anyone.

He is liberal and accepting of anyone who's views coincide with his own. Others, not so much.

No, he's not bright. He thinks that freedom is forcing people under the threat of guns to do what he believes they should do. It's preposterous.

Should a Jewish Bakery Have the Right to Deny...
...a Christian Ideology based White Power group who goes into a Jewish bakery and request a cake in the shape a HHH and a burning cross?

No...

Why does starting your own business mean you no longer have freedom to make your own choices exactly?

It's based on a basic principle of liberalism that posits you and all you produce are the property of the state. Your business exists to serve the state first and your own purposes second.

NO you don't get to tell the people what they can DO with their property.
Are you 11-years-old by chance? And yes, we do. Buy some property and find out. And remember to pay your taxes, those come with the property.

And if people don't do with their business what you want them to, then you support government using guns to force them to do it. But only because you're a liberal who believes in freedom...

:cuckoo:

We do that here, at times, but that's no freedom eh? True freedom is Anarchy. I'm a fan of that either. Tell us, why are there limits on Free Speech? Doesn't that go against the Constitution?

If a Christian business person was so genuinely devout in his religious belief that doing business with a gay person was absolutely forbidden by his faith,

he wouldn't do any business with anyone that he could not determine with reasonable certainty was not gay.

Good thing that's not the law. There are dozens of laws that prevent discrimination from someone going into a business. This law protects individuals from being forced into participating in events to which they have a religious objection. Or from performing services their religion makes them unqualified to perform. Like couples counseling for same sex couples.

Hardly. Try opening a toxic waste dump or a brothel and you'll find out just how Public things are. Do a strip club or a porno shop as well. You could own the entire block and will never anything more than roller skate there once the zoning commission gets done with you. You want to know where the phrase You can't fight city hall came from? Zoning laws would be a damn good bet.
You continue to amaze. Zoning laws regulate the type of business or residential area. It does not allow for ownership any more than the state owns your car that you drive on regulated roadways.

He cannot distinguish similar concepts. Typical of the brain dead left.

I have to agree with him. Most of the stuff he says is brain dead, but he's right on the money on this issue.

That's incorrect. It's based on the idea that societies get to set rules for those within said society.

Freedom is the right to make your own choices, it is not the right to make other people's choices for them

You're not making rules, you're just forcing people to do your bidding with guns. There is absolutely nothing liberal about you.

Does the government own your car?
Nope. But it can sure as hell tell you what you can and can't with it eh?

I assume you meant to say the government can tell you what to do with it. If that's the case, then you don't own it. The government does.
That's correct, and I fixed it, TY.

And I think not. If they owned it they would be making the payments. No, you own it, we just get to tell you how or if you can drive it, at least on our roads that is.
