What does it matter that money was offered for the video? The video is already out there, and they just pretend it doesn't exist. Just like pretty boy Hannity saying waterboarding wasn't torture, and to prove it, he'd be waterboarded to raise money for charities that help veterans and their families. Being taken away does not mean that it has all been taken away. We still have some of our freedoms, in fact, more than many other countries have, but that doesn't stop them from eliminating more of them as they can.

Politicians are slowly taking away our liberties. I doubt they will be satisfied until they have us neatly tucked under their belts and no one has the guts to stand up and say, "Congress is corrupt!" Until then, I suspect they will just keep snuffing one freedom after another out.

For the record, it is not just one of the two parties that is doing this. They both are.

Maybe there were reasons--like tent people living on riverbanks. I don't know. Did you get kicked off? I thought they had a real shortage of park rangers, so if you did, I'm surprised they found you. Hell, I'd try again if I were you and you weren't doing anything to trash the area.

I tried panning once somewhere near Lodi CA, but couldn't tell you where. I had been visiting friends in Sacramento and we went up there for some local festival, then went panning for gold. It was pretty boring, but we had plenty of beer.

The Town Halls were forums for people to let their elected representatives know how their opinions on issues that affect them. They did not overturn the rule of law. Congress took care of that all on their own with the horrible process they used to pass this legislation despite widespread unpopularity.
