Should Governments regulate fraudulent religions?

Cults should be regulated and banned.
I disagree, and here is why (by the way, me may not end up all that far apart, when I am done3) :

1) I don't think we should ever ban a belief, or a thought. And it could be said that membership in a cult may be defined by belief, and literally nothing else.

2) we already have laws against fraud, e.g., laws against making false claims in a transaction. These are selectively enforced, naturally, because we don't track everything communicated in every transaction.

3) Enforce such laws (which may require re-writing them, I admit) on those making false claims. Homeopathy included. If a man says that a donation will buy you a special salvation, or level of enlightenment, make it that such a claim made without a shred of evidence is not legal. Make scientology prove the effectiveness of its products. make Joel Osteeen cease his false narrative that donations to his church make one more prosperous.

And then religion will imnstantly be that much more benign. We will have less of people

flat tax.
#2 worst idea in modern economics, right after the gold standard.
Nope. Best idea evah.
Nope it is a horrible idea that will never, not ever, be implemented. And thank goodness for that... conservatives may be dumb, but they're not THAT dumb... ;)
Best idea evah. You would probably pay no taxes at all.
You can keep screaming that into a mirror for the rest of your life, for all I care. I have not a single worry that such a moronic idea will ever be implemented.

Socialism intentionally denies examination because it is irrational. There is no formal defined dogma of socialism. Instead there is only a vague, rosy notion of something good, noble and just: the advent of these things will bring instant euphoria and a social order beyond reproach. Socialism seeks equality through uniformity and communal ownership. Socialism has an extraordinary ability to incite and inflame its adherents and inspire social movements. Socialists dismiss their defeats and ignore their incongruities. They desire big government and use big government to implement their morally relativistic social policies. Socialism is a religion. The religious nature of socialism explains their hostility towards traditional religions which is that of one rival religion over another. Their dogma is based on materialism, primitive instincts, atheism and the deification of man. They see no distinction between good and evil, no morality or any other kind of value, save pleasure. They practice moral relativity, indiscriminate indiscriminateness, multiculturalism, cultural Marxism and normalization of deviance. They worship science but are the first to reject it when it suits their purposes. They can be identified by an external locus of control. Their religious doctrine is abolition of private property, abolition of family, abolition of religion and equality via uniformity and communal ownership. They practice critical theory which is the Cultural Marxist theory to criticize what they do not believe to arrive at what they do believe without ever having to examine what they believe. They confuse critical theory for critical thinking. Critical thinking is the practice of challenging what one does believe to test its validity. Something Fort Fun never does.

But I do need your assistance and I do appreciate your help.

A 25% flat tax on all earnings (personal, corporate and capital gains) where the only deduction is 25k for single and 50k for joint filers. If 25% doesn't cover government spending. Raise it to what it needs to be to cover it.

Four things will happen. One, we will have divided and conquered our politicians ability to punish their enemies and reward their friends on the revenue side of the equation. Two, people will start giving a damn about what our "servants" spend. Three, we will have eliminated the loopholes the wealthy use to pay a lower effective tax rate than people who make much less than they do. And four, no one below the poverty level will pay any taxes until they move above the poverty level.

Problem solved. What's for dinner.

Since Fort Fun practices critical theory he won't be able to make any argument for what we should do. All he will be able to do is criticize what someone else says we should do. Wait for it.

Go ahead, prattle on the rest of your life about the flat tax... it will never, ever happen. Not ever. We would never become so stupid , collectively, to implement such a horrible idea.

Clearly a progressive tax is better than a flat tax.

If a progressive tax were clearly better, you would be able to articulate the reasons. And you would be able to articulate why a flat tax is a horrible idea.

Did you at least graduate high school?
