Since Knives murder more people than all rifle types combined, why don't we ban knives?

Yes...knives each year kill over 6 times as many people as assault rifles...even with 8,000,000 of these rifles in private hands........

in 34 years, 1982-2016 rifles with detachable magazines, during mass public shootings, only murdered 149 people....in 34 years.....

Each year knives murder over 1,500 people...each year.....

Why don't we ban knives....they are far deadlier that assault rifles.....

Over 6 times more people are murdered each year by knives than assault rifles...but you guys want to ban assault rifles...even with over 8,000,000 of them in private hands.....and they can't even work up enough energy to murder more people than knives do....

And clubs and bare hands kill more people too, than assault rifles...

blunt objects have killed more people than rifles as well, and so has the use of hands and feet as a weapon. My take away from this is if someone with hands and feet, carrying a blunt object and a knife is coming at you, its very beneficial to have a Rifle !

what is the argument for banning assault rifles then, except for a few recent events that do not represent 1% of gun owners? When Muslim terrorists attack we are told to look the other way (christians) and not sensationalize the incident. Yet a shooting happens and suddenly a rifle that is not fully automatic becomes an assault weapon
