Six Alinsky Rules That Explain Obama’s Words and Deeds

I found this part of his Wikipedia article funny.

Adam Brandon, a spokesman for the conservative non-profit organization FreedomWorks, one of several groups involved in organizing Tea Party protests, says the group gives Alinsky's Rules for Radicals to its top leadership members. A shortened guide called Rules for Patriots is distributed to its entire network. In a January 2012 story that appeared in The Wall Street Journal, citing the organization's tactic of sending activists to town-hall meetings, Brandon explained, "his [Alinsky's] tactics when it comes to grass-roots organizing are incredibly effective." Former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey also gives copies of Alinsky's book Rules for Radicals to Tea Party leaders.

Tea Partiers openly admit to using his tactics, while accusing Obama of using his tactics. You can't make this shit up.

at least we don't LIE about it....

Glenn Beck cares

Nobody else does

i'd say there is a groundswell of Americans who DO care.....that's why the Tea Party which is throwing your Alinsky tactics back in your faces is so hated by you lefties...
Another who finally admits the Right are the Alinskyites.

nope.....Alinsky was a LEFTIE.....

all we are doing is adopting some of his political TACTICS......which you guys hate....

Alinsky worked for the poor and downtrodden, the tea party works for the very wealty and the corporations although they just think they're patriotic.
Also Alinsky didn't try to bring down the country like these modern day Know Nothings are trying to do while being led by an alcoholic speaker of the house. The conservatives have moved the goal post so far to the right since the 70's that now a centrist democrat like Obama seems like a radical to most of these posters here. The tea party should take on the name "Know Nothings". Know Nothing party link below.

Other than the damage your ignorance and stupidity can do to the country. I'm enjoying the comic opera you're creating.

the reason i say Alinsky was a leftie is because he organized in the black neighborhoods like Obama....and his teachings have become ingrained in the left...which today has become so far left you can't recognize the Democrat party anymore...Alinsky's 'organizing' was the same as saying 'revolution'....

but conservatives also work for the downtrodden blacks.....you got a problem with them using Alinsky tactics too.....?

As Alinsky put it: “A reformation means that the masses of our people have reached the point of disillusionment with past ways and values. They don’t know what will work but they do know that the prevailing system is self-defeating, frustrating, and hopeless. They won’t act for change but won’t strongly oppose those who do. The time is then ripe for revolution.”[1]

“[W]e are concerned,” Alinsky elaborated, “with how to create mass organizations to seize power and give it to the people; to realize the democratic dream of equality, justice, peace, cooperation, equal and full opportunities for education, full and useful employment, health, and the creation of those circumstances in which men have the chance to live by the values that give meaning to life. We are talking about a mass power organization which will change the world … This means revolution.”

That is the problem with the left.
They truly think that they are helping the poor and downtrodden.
Your ideology is keeping them in dependency and it's not getting them out of poverty, but it keeps them in poverty. It makes it extremely hard to get out of poverty.

Look at the difference between the poor in the Appalachians.
Those that take government assistance are living in misery and are selling their prescription drugs to survive.
Their young get a scholarship and thinks that everything else should be paid for, other than their collage tuition. They get angry when they learn they have to also get a part time job to pay for books , food, clothing and rent.
The mind set is give me everything.
Their homes are all run down, and they are not making the necessary repairs to their homes.

Those that don't take government assistance are growing gardens, killing wild animals, making things to sell, using trade and barter and they are much happier than those who take government assistance, yet they are just as poor. They are much better off and in the same poverty than those who get government hand outs.
These people are also keeping their homes up and making necessary repairs.
Why is that? Because they are using Capitalism.

Continued government help is keeping them in squalor and misery.

Again you admit the OP is a lie, it is the RIGHT who practice the tactics of Alinksy, while accusing others of doing it. See the chief Alinskyite in my sig. I already exposed the OP using Alinsky's tactic of branding the opposition as "evil" in this very thread!

Notice how the left reacts when these tactics are used against them.

Rightwinger is fond of feebly claiming that Alinsky was a conservative, and the right uses his tactics as a matter of course.

Of course, rightwinger's very username is a lie, so whattya expect?

Link where I ever claimed Alinsky was conservative
It's probably near the same posts you claimed Communism was on the right side of the scale.

:lmao:
The GOP is losing young Christians - The Week

"Alinsky, you magnificent bastard, I read your book!"

That's the reverence many modern conservatives hold toward the late liberal organizer Saul Alinsky, whose book Rules for Radicals — which was dedicated to Lucifer — has become an esteemed political bible for conservatives hoping to learn from the left.

One example comes to us from John Hawkins, a conservative columnist and blogger who wrote an article for Townhall last year headlined "12 Ways To Use Saul Alinsky's Rules For Radicals Against Liberals." A tit-for-tat sample:

Libs throw a pie at a conservative author on campus; then we promise to shower every liberal speaker on the same campus with garbage. They post a conservative address online; we post two liberal addresses online. They hold a protest at someone's house; then we hold a protest at someone's house. They hit one of our politicians with glitter; we hit one of their politicians with coal dust

Very few Liberals today could tell you who Alinsky is. However he is constantly brought up in the conservative media as some arch villian who is lurking in the shadows. Ask a Beck viewer who Alinsky is and they all know.
That's because Beck viewers are paying attention.

Liberals don't have to know who Alinsky is to mindlessly follow his programming.

Good post

Seems like Republicans have embraced Alinsky

Only you would draw that conclusion.

It's Republicans that are the radicals.

They are continuing to do very radical and unprecedented things.

They are making Bush, who was pretty radical himself, seem tame.
Ladies and gentlemen, leftist doublethink in action.

"Conservatives are radicals who do unprecedented things! Conservatives also want to turn back the clock to the 1950s!"

How do you do that? How do you simultaneously believe two mutually-exclusive ideas?

A simple Google of "Alinsky" shows 10 of the 13 firstpage entries are Conservative sites. The other three are Wikepedia and Amazon. None are from left wing sites

Alinsky is a rightwing boogeyman who the left gave up on 30 years ago

then perhaps you would care to explain Alinsky's son's praise for Obama in the Boston Globe....?

For example, from “Rules for Radicals,” consider Alinsky’s words of wisdom for emerging community organizers:

These are the kinds of things Obama was reading when he poured through the pages of “Rules for Radicals,” and these are the kinds of things he would have been taught by the community organizers who trained him. And what have Obama’s tactics as President been to this point, if not tactics of playing one class against another to raise levels of frustration and of creating the very disenchantment about which Alinsky wrote, in order to nurture a passion for change?

Alinsky taught him well. And Alinsky’s son was the first to admit it, when he wrote a letter to the Boston Globe in praise of Barack Obama following the 2008 Democrat National Convention:

How Saul Alinsky Taught Barack Obama Everything He Knows About Civic Upheaval

Who cares?
I accept your acknowledgement that you were wrong.

Oh, you may not THINK you acknowledged it...but you did.

Who cares?

obviously you don't.......that's why you spread lies........

Glenn Beck cares

Nobody else does
You're just like Dear Reader.

You're missing a very key difference:

Obama uses them, but he (and his mindless sheep supporters...sorry to step on your toes) doesn't admit it.

To a Marxist, a socialist is a fundy Rethug.

Think about it a minute.

Good post

Seems like Republicans have embraced Alinsky

Basically.

Except for the fact Alinsky was advocating for poor families.

Conservatives would more than love to go back to the days of sweat shops, robber barons and ghettoes.

Wait...you just said they're radicals who want to do unprecedented things.

You ever going to get around to explaining how you do that Doublethink thing?
