So, You Want To Take A Knee NFL Football Players?

Take a little trip to Valley Forge in January. If you don't know where
that is, just Google it from the sidelines. Hold a musket ball in your
fingers and imagine it piercing your flesh and breaking a bone or two.
There won't be a doctor or trainer to assist you until after the
battle, so just wait your turn.Take your cleats and socks off to get a
real experience. Then take a knee.

Then, take one at the beach in Normandy where man after American man
stormed the beach, even as the one in front of him was shot to
pieces...the very sea stained with American blood. The only blockers
most had were the dead bodies in front of them, riddled with bullets
from enemy fire.

Take a knee in the sweat-soaked jungles of Vietnam. from Khe San to
Saigon...Anywhere will do. Americans died in all those jungles. There
was no playbook that told them what was next, but they knew what flag
they represented. When they came home, they were protested as
well..and spit on for reasons only cowards know.

Take another knee in the blood-drenched sands of Fallujah in 110
degree heat..Wear your Kevlar helmet and battle dress...Your number
won't be printed on it unless your number is up! You'll need to stay
hydrated but there won't be anyone to squirt Gatorade into your mouth.
You're on your own.

There's a lot of places to take a knee. Americans have given their
lives all over the world. When you use the banner under which they
fought as a source for your displeasure, you dishonor the memories of
those who bled for the very freedoms you have. That's what the red
stripes mean. It represents the blood of those who spilled a sea of it
defending your liberty.

While you're on your knees, pray for those that came before you, not on
a manicured lawn striped and printed with numbers to announce every
inch of ground taken...but on nameless hills and bloodied beaches and
sweltering forests and bitter cold mountains...every inch marked by an
American life lost serving that flag you protest.

No cheerleaders, no announcers, no coaches, no fans...just American
men and women...delivering the real fight against those who chose to
harm us...blazing a path so you would have the right to "take a knee."

You haven't an inkling what it took to get you where you are...but
your "protest" is duly noted. Not only is it disgraceful to a nation
of real heroes, it serves the purpose of pointing to your ingratitude
for those who chose to defend you under that banner that will still
wave long after your jersey is retired! What exactly have any of you spoiled,
overpaid jocks done to serve your country?

Same knee, different reason. But a dishonest buffoon like you already knows this.

"dishonest buffoon"? Flaming in the Politics (Zone 2)?
This is probably the sort of knee you wish everyone to take that you hate.....and you seem to hate a lot of people. A sign of a unreasonable person.

PAUL-un-on-knees.jpg
More flaming in Zone 2 Politics? Where exactly is the content relevant to the thread in your flame post? :eusa_naughty:
Tsk Tsk......such a bad example to set there.

Of course....kneeling is ok or kneeling is not ok....depends on who's ox is gored. There are those who are very very threatened by people making non-violent protests that are growing.

So the current spin seems to be that this is not about the First Amendment or freedom of expression in general, but instead it's a "workplace issue".

Oh, okay.

Well, unless the boss fires or suspends or fines them, I guess that's that.

Can we move on now?

:dunno:

No! The NFL threw a punch at me last Sunday.

I'm fighting back.
Okay, what's your strategy?
.

I assume that his strategy as the same as a whole big bunch of us who aren't afraid to say that true patriots and honorable citizens do not disrespect the flag, national anthem, and nation that has made it possible for them to be whatever they choose to be and are able and willing to work for and/or to express their opinion about wrongs that need to be made right. To disrespect that flag/national anthem, and in so doing disrespect all who made that possible, is a huge slap in the face to ALL honorable Americans. That is the message it sends no matter what they say their intentions are.
Okay, I get that, but are you trying to get them to stop? And do you think that would improve anything?

And what if they don't? Violence seems more like a Regressive thing.
.

I have not ever nor will I ever suggest violence as the solution. I have a huge contempt for those engaging in violence to make their point when they already enjoy the liberty of free speech and the right to protest and petition their government to address whatever grievances they may have. Those football players/owners are disrespecting the very flag/national anthem that represents their right to be jerks and disrespect all who love and/or have defended that flag, millions at terrible cost.

And I will exercise my right to see them as jerks and say so and hope that public opinion will come down on the good side of the debate. I do not see myself as having the power nor do I want the power to force somebody else to agree with and adopt my point of view. But I strongly believe if those who see stupidity and disrespect when they see it don't speak out against that and try to effect something good with public opinion, then ultimately we are all screwed.

There are almost always two sides to every argument and we should never shy from a national debate on what is important to us. But if I go break somebody's window or give some innocent person the bird to protest somebody doing me or others some wrong, I am as guilty and wrong as the person I protest.

The NFL players/owners are doing the nation a great wrong and setting a terrible example by disrespecting the flag and National Anthem instead of focusing on whatever they are protesting, and it is good and right to call them out on that.

To start I didn't watch a second of any NFL game, pre or post show last week.
Next is to complain to sponsors.
Leave restaurants that won't turn off football games.
And leave bars/restaurants that won't leave games on.

The players are obviously trying to send a message to Trump specifically. It's not meant to disrespect our flag or what it stands for. Maybe it's not the most respectful way to protest, but I don't think their actions make them unpatriotic.

All of the sudden, LEFTISTS want to tell you it is NOT about the flag, NOT about the country, NOT about the anthem. Really! You are phony baloney's just trying to wiggle out of it!

Who started this? Why Mr Kaperchump, correct! And when interviewed, what did he say WHY he was doing it? Lost your memory have you leftists! Well let me refresh it for you, along with EXACTLY what he said!

Colin Kaepernick explains why he sat during national anthem

So you see, it IS about the country, flag, and what it stands for. You people are PATHETIC!

Amen. Amen. Amen. If they are not disrespecting their country, their flag, their National Anthem, then they shouldn't target their country, their flag, their National Anthem with their disrespect.

Never fear, I know someone in middle management at Fox sports, and they are in a panic. Funny thing is.........his words, not mine-----------> almost all of the sports reporters are leftists, while management is more independent, or conservative. Seems there is a bru-ha-ha on how this is to be reported, until they were told that if it keeps sinking, they will have to start cutting staff, lol.

Oh well, leftists are good at causing people to lose jobs; why not sports reporters, and maybe a few NFL players too-)

One aspect of this history that has spawned some confusion in recent days concerns a change made in 2009.

Until that year, players in primetime games would remain inside their locker rooms while the anthem was sung, due to timing concerns for the television networks. After 2009, the players in primetime games have been on the field during the anthem, McCarthy said.

"players are strongly encouraged, but not required, to stand during the national anthem." He has used essentially the same language in previous statements going back to 2016.

In 2015, Sen. John McCain and Sen. John Flake released a joint oversight report on what they called the “paid patriotism,” saying the Department of Defense gave as much as $6.8 million in taxpayer money to professional sports teams to honor the military at games and events over the past four years. McCain criticized the move in a statement at the time, saying, “Fans should have confidence that their hometown heroes are being honored because of their honorable military service, not as a marketing ploy.”

take a knee and stfu.
