So, You Want To Take A Knee NFL Football Players?

Take a little trip to Valley Forge in January. If you don't know where
that is, just Google it from the sidelines. Hold a musket ball in your
fingers and imagine it piercing your flesh and breaking a bone or two.
There won't be a doctor or trainer to assist you until after the
battle, so just wait your turn.Take your cleats and socks off to get a
real experience. Then take a knee.

Then, take one at the beach in Normandy where man after American man
stormed the beach, even as the one in front of him was shot to
pieces...the very sea stained with American blood. The only blockers
most had were the dead bodies in front of them, riddled with bullets
from enemy fire.

Take a knee in the sweat-soaked jungles of Vietnam. from Khe San to
Saigon...Anywhere will do. Americans died in all those jungles. There
was no playbook that told them what was next, but they knew what flag
they represented. When they came home, they were protested as
well..and spit on for reasons only cowards know.

Take another knee in the blood-drenched sands of Fallujah in 110
degree heat..Wear your Kevlar helmet and battle dress...Your number
won't be printed on it unless your number is up! You'll need to stay
hydrated but there won't be anyone to squirt Gatorade into your mouth.
You're on your own.

There's a lot of places to take a knee. Americans have given their
lives all over the world. When you use the banner under which they
fought as a source for your displeasure, you dishonor the memories of
those who bled for the very freedoms you have. That's what the red
stripes mean. It represents the blood of those who spilled a sea of it
defending your liberty.

While you're on your knees, pray for those that came before you, not on
a manicured lawn striped and printed with numbers to announce every
inch of ground taken...but on nameless hills and bloodied beaches and
sweltering forests and bitter cold mountains...every inch marked by an
American life lost serving that flag you protest.

No cheerleaders, no announcers, no coaches, no fans...just American
men and women...delivering the real fight against those who chose to
harm us...blazing a path so you would have the right to "take a knee."

You haven't an inkling what it took to get you where you are...but
your "protest" is duly noted. Not only is it disgraceful to a nation
of real heroes, it serves the purpose of pointing to your ingratitude
for those who chose to defend you under that banner that will still
wave long after your jersey is retired! What exactly have any of you spoiled,
overpaid jocks done to serve your country?

Has nothing to do with protesting social injustice

Remember Valley Forge?

Those Patriots were protesting the injustice of British rule
Were they being disrespectful to the Union Jack?

Viewership of NFL games was down 26% last year and along with attendance is down this year. People don't attend, or watch concerts, sporting events to be exposed to someones politics, but to be entertained. Apparently, Roger Goodell, owners and players are too dumb to realize that they are in danger of killing the goose that lays the golden egg!
Tickets cost way too much. Most stations televising games now are premium channels not everyone can afford, either. I wouldn't go to a playoff game in Boston or Minneapolis in December either. It's too COLD. Some places down south right now it's too HOT. So it's more fun to watch on a giant screen somewhere or just find another pastime.

The players are obviously trying to send a message to Trump specifically. It's not meant to disrespect our flag or what it stands for. Maybe it's not the most respectful way to protest, but I don't think their actions make them unpatriotic.

There are plenty of messages to send to Trump without disrespecting our Flag, those who died for it, those who defend it, and those who proudly salute it. Keep up the mantra of "it's not disrespectful of the Flag".... fans are leaving the NFL. That player kneeling this week should take a good look at the increase in empty seats. Empty seats mean lower paycheck.

Instead of disrespecting the Flag and then screaming / crying that it is not disrespect when people get angry, NFL Players should pool their money and take an ad out against Trump or start recruiting someone to beat Trump.
Or better yet, maybe they should get off the field and start putting some sweat equity into rebuilding the broken families in the black community.

That is how you solve social inequities.
well my first question in this issue is what are the cops supposed to do differently? If in a black neighborhood, most often crime will be due to a black individual. are they supposed to ignore crime? if so, then they will be hung for ignoring crime. I love the oximorons on the left.

Who has advocating ignoring crime? Just don't shoot people as option one....then lie about it...and then get away with it. How hard is that?

stop running like your guilty. how about that? we all are to obey the authority. why isn't a cop allowed to defend themselves.

G. Washington taking a knee at Valley Forge: View attachment 151607

Same knee, different reason. But a dishonest buffoon like you already knows this.

This is probably the sort of knee you wish everyone to take that you hate.....and you seem to hate a lot of people. A sign of a unreasonable person.

Who is saying it should be option number 1? A few bad cases, and suddenly cops are just shooting blacks in every city rather than stop and questioning them.

Didn't answer the question. I didn't ask if you could find anecdotal evidence of a few bad apples, did I?

Name Me the police units that have a shoot blacks as the first option. That was your assertion. That it shouldn't be the first option. That implies that there are police units in this nation that have that policy on the books.

It all started with Kaepernik refusing to stand for the National Anthem even as he wore socks with police officers depicted as pigs on them to practice.

But this past weekend it was spoiled, overpaid, elitist football players/owners protesting President Trump's opinion about people like Kaepernik. The MSM and people like Maxine Waters immediately made it about race. How dare anybody criticize ANYTHING that involves black people or a black person. Anybody who would treat or refer to black people like ordinary people has to be racist.

But a very large majority of Americans shared the President's opinion that patriots stand for the National Anthem and the flag and it would be great if owners would simply bench those football players who would not. It is why is was elected and why he has so many people behind him still. He is no partisan. He is no professional, slick, poll tested, self serving politician. He says things that have been hushed up by the PC police but that need saying. And he does things that need doing, not what makes the snowflakes egotistical media types and the political class, most especially the permanent political class, feel good and gives them license to keep up rhetoric and activities that are hurting people much more than they help.

one cop out of how many? aren't there bad doctors, lawyers, pilots? Why do you all think we think there aren't some cops that are bad cops. lock him the fk up if he killed someone or intentionally shot someone. I'm all good with it. But don't think that same shit doesn't happen with all races. see that is the issue, you all think it is only, let me repeat, ONLY blacks that this happens to. you're fking wrong.

So the current spin seems to be that this is not about the First Amendment or freedom of expression in general, but instead it's a "workplace issue".

Oh, okay.

Well, unless the boss fires or suspends or fines them, I guess that's that.

Can we move on now?

:dunno:
.

No! The NFL threw a punch at me last Sunday.

I'm fighting back.

I assume that his strategy as the same as a whole big bunch of us who aren't afraid to say that true patriots and honorable citizens do not disrespect the flag, national anthem, and nation that has made it possible for them to be whatever they choose to be and are able and willing to work for and/or to express their opinion about wrongs that need to be made right. To disrespect that flag/national anthem, and in so doing disrespect all who made that possible, is a huge slap in the face to ALL honorable Americans. That is the message it sends no matter what they say their intentions are. And it makes them look like insensitive, crude, rude, jerks.

And what if they don't? Violence seems more like a Regressive thing.

To start I didn't watch a second of any NFL game, pre or post show last week.
Next is to complain to sponsors.
Leave restaurants that won't turn off football games.
