Allow me to shine some light into the reptilian brains, the fake Christians and "patriots" of the board.

"In God we trust" was nothing more than a "political SLOGAN."

While the earliest mentions of the phrase can be found in the mid-19th century, the origins of this phrase as a political motto lie in the American Civil War, where Union supporters wanted to emphasize their attachment to God and to boost morale.[7] The capitalized form "IN GOD WE TRUST" first appeared on the two-cent piece in 1864 and initially only appeared on coins, but it gradually became accepted among Americans.

It was used as a political football and was never a phrase included in or endorsed by the U.S. Constitution.

On July 11, 1955, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed H.R. 619 – a bill that required the inscription, “In God We Trust,” to appear on all paper and coin currency – into law. When the resolution was first introduced in the House by Representative Charles E. Bennett of Florida, he stated, “Nothing can be more certain than that our country was founded in a spiritual atmosphere and with a firm trust in God,” further adding that “While the sentiment of trust in God is universal and timeless, these particular four words ‘In God We Trust’ are indigenous to our country.”

Although U.S. Coins have had the inscription “In God We Trust since the Civil War, long before the passage of the law, paper currency did not have the four words inscribed until the first dollar bills in circulation on October 1, 1957. On July 30, 1956,, by an Act of Congress approved by the President, the phrase was declared the official national motto.

So?!?

Men aren't women, and women aren't men like lunatics think.
And it doesn't matter how many operations the person has or how many pronouns the person insist on identifying themselves with.
Females can't gain a Y chromosome.
Males can't get rid of a Y chromosome.

No matter how much you change the plumbing.

How come Democrats don't understand we were founded as a Christian country?

As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion, - as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen, - and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries. - John Adams, November 4, 1796, Treaty of Peace and Friendship, Signed at Tripoli. The Barbary Treaties 1786-1816

This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it. - John Adams, “The Adams-Jefferson Letters: The Complete Correspondence Between Thomas Jefferson and Abigail and John Adams”

Thanks for posting a link that simply supports what I originally stated.

It was a political slogan.

Nowhere mentioned in the Constitution or Amendment.

More proof we were a more moral country in the fifties.
Gee you are funny in your ignorance...
Redlining, Jim Crow segregation, women and minorities that were more than qualified refused jobs and entrance to the colleges of their choice. Women could not own a credit card in their own name.
Lynchings ,government spying, KKK resurgence , sun down towns, Gays brutalized and harassed by police.

Stop speaking on things you know nothing of.

I guess it depends on how you define "moral".

For some of us the segregation, lack of women's rights, lynchings, etc etc are all immoral.

Some see all that as moral, but 2 guys marrying each other as the reason they say we are not a moral country.

I just listed the immorality, it's plain to see. The same type of people that excused that immorality in the 1950's are the type that are intent on reimposing those things.

If you make excuses for the police to murder, brutalize and kill people just because they are gay, what other crimes would you turn your head to?

Can't have freedom of religion without freedom from religion.

What if one of the muslim congresscritters was up there pushing for America to be more Muslim and promising to base legislation on that?
Freedom of religion includes freedom to not practice a religion.

The founders believed our freedoms came from a Creator God/Jehovah; and most of the founders were Christian as well. No Allah and no Islam.

Muslims are free to practice their faith but they can't rewrite our founding principals to include sharia. In fact, many sharia laws are unconstitutional. If they don't like it, go back to the Middle East.

Nobody is suggesting they should.

The problem here is that MAGA Mike wants to do the christian version of sharia.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Liberals still believe in the phony separation of church and state.

Really telling and very disturbing how when you pose the idea of mere unity of all people within a nation towards a common goal of love and excellence with a central-guiding principle to lead our way to harmony and prosperity for all, that the Left's reaction is one of horror and revulsion.
