We should do this with all Confederate Monuments
Replace them with monuments to Civil Rights leaders and monuments honoring the struggles of slaves

A statue honoring civil rights hero and US Congressman John Lewis is being unveiled Saturday outside of Atlanta, replacing a Confederate monument that had stood there for more than a century.

Renowned Jamaican sculptor Basil Watson created the statue, coined the John Lewis Memorial. It was installed August 16 in Decatur Square in front of the Historic Decatur Courthouse.

It's a great idea. We should be teaching our children how self determined black people organized and lifted themselves up.

Not how a bunch of sore loser, Southern racists felt the need to try to remind everybody who is still in charge.

Yes, those kinds of monument would go a long way to increase the self esteem of a lot of black people. And not only should they replace those confederate monuments with blacks leaders, but indigenous leaders, Asian leaders, and women who fought for womens equality.

The confederacy erased itself after it lost the war. The confederates were not Americans. he confederacy was a separate country. Germany does not have nazi monuments, we should not have confederate monuments that were put up years after the war ended in order to promote white supremacy.

This is not a troll thread. But to those who are fragile it seems that way.

Putting up statutes of election deniers? That's an interesting move.
