No, the law and/or the formal processes are to stay within the context of the constitution and it's purpose, so I don't agree that Pence had the authority to stop the proceedings, but he could have allowed a better procedure to take place,

Trump was pressuring Mike Pence to recognize the fake electors that the Trump campaign organized and sent to Mike Pence.

HadMike Pence caved in to trumps pressure he would’ve been committing a crime to recognize fake electors and use that to overturn the election.

If you agree that Pence did not have the legal authority to do that then you agree with Liz Cheney that Trump was out of line to pressure his vice president to commit a crime that would keep him in the White House for another four years.

Trump did not pressure Mike Pence to stop the proceeding. Trump pressured Mike Pence to use the proceeding by recognizing the fraudulent electors’ certs that Trump sent him discard the electoral votes from Michigan Pennsylvania Georgia Arizona Nevada Wisconsin and New Mexico. Trump is pressuring Pence to commit fraud in other words.

Who knows, only their inner circles know the answer to that... If Pence didn't conduct the hearing/certification process in a non- biased way, otherwise in which he should have given everyone their air of grievances about what they thought might had taken place during the count, and maybe even rescheduling the hearing or certification to a later date all due to the disturbances that interrupted the would be formal and important certification of the vote, then why the rush to certify ??? Not clearing up the sad state of affairs surrounding the vote, and then now we see this new evidence coming out that actually show's the lack of integrity concerning the legitimacy of the vote, sort of makes Pence and company look like they just went along to get along. Otherwise hurry up and seal the deal right ?

That is not what Trump pressured Pence to do. You need to begin dealing with the fake electors. There is no way to reschedule the counting of the votes beyond January 6. The nation Must begin preparing for the peaceful transfer of power like we did every time since the founding.

Do you think Mike Pence should’ve recognized the fake electors and thrown the entire vote out from seven states and then declare Trump the winner. It was no longer about airing grievances. If you watch the hearings you might learn something.

According to Constitution and the law regarding our elections all issues surrounding the election are to be settled by December 8 and the electors chosen in this past year’s election was December 14. According to the constitution and the laws of our land, when all 50 states have their certifications completed by December 14 their electors are in what’s called safe Harbor. They cannot be changed.

Mike Pence nor anyone else could legally change the outcome of the election even if with some massive fraud suddenly appears to be proven according to the law. We all know no massive fraud has ever been proven. That is why Trump and Giuliani Mark Meadows and some congressman and maybe even GinnyThomas to break the law by setting up fake electors and sending them to the Senate for Mike Pence to recognize. The purpose of the fake electors is mentioned in the Eastman memo which is to “create chaos” and send the The election to the House of Representatives where Republican majority would choose Trump to be the winner. The chaos created was purposely intended to get that outcome. Pence refused to go along with it and you people consider him a villain. YOU have no respect for America. And you’re so dumbfounded by this that you’re SOREING ridiculous ideas such as Pence should’ve just refused to do it.

Your feud is with the state of Michigan Wisconsin Pennsylvania Georgia Arizona Nevada and New Mexico. They all certified their elections on or before December 14 and put their electors in safe Harbor.

Trump had no choice but to concede after that and then if he still wanted to fight and prove there was massive fraud that would’ve overturned the election in each of those states he is still free to do so just for the record and the shame it would bring against whoever committed the fraud. But as of right now there’s no one even suspected of committing fraud in the 2020 election on a massive scale.
