Supremes: Hobby Lobby wins

The extent of your enthusiasm for government intervention is astonishing. Is there anything, any crevice of your body, you won't welcome Big Brother into?

Your enthusiasm for vulgarity aside, maybe you should start thinking about more "private" digs.

That way if you have a heart attack or something..you can "privately" figure out what to do.

Heh... I'll take that as a 'no'.

So when are you putting on your big boy Libertarian pants and moving to a private island?

The problems that you are so spun up about could have been fixed with a one page law.

Health insurance companies may no longer deny coverage to persons with pre-existing conditions

Health insurance companies may not longer include maximum lifetime payments in any policies

Health insurance companies must charge the same premium to all polciy holders.

There, three sentences fixed all the problems. But instead we got a 2000 page piece of shit bill, passed by dems only, that is destroying the best medical system in the history of the world.

Because you have to design a mechanism for paying for those things. That's what the insurance mandate does, pays for all those goodies. You have to get young, healthy people in the pool as well as the people with pre-existing conditions. Duh.

Wrong, you spread the total cost over all of the people who buy policies. Thats the way insurance works.

The government cannot mandate that everyone buy insurance. If you choose to be uninsured then you accept the risks that go with that decision. If you are unable to pay for insurance then medicaid is there for you.

There was no healthcare crisis in the USA before obozocare. It was nothing but a lib attempt to take over 1/6 of the US economy and to ram more socialism up our collective asses.

The way insurance worked before the ACA was by denying coverage. That's how they made their money. By getting more young, healthy people buying insurance, insurance companies can now afford to treat conditions they would deny before.

Let me guess, you paid no attention to the world until the black guy got elected, right?

You think ACA has changed this one iota?? The only difference is, now we have to buy it whether we want it or not.

Translation: it screws people who dont want, don't need, and can't afford insurance to subsidize people who are unwilling to pay. Transferring wealth from the younger generation to the older generation, all through a coercive scheme that gets worse and worse with every month.
By next year the American people will be begging for repeal of Obamacare.

Doesn't matter if you don't want it, you will need it unless you are independently wealthy and can afford to pay cash for your doctor visits.

The scheme was those young people without insurance making me pay when they wrapped their crotch rocket around a tree and ended up in the emergency room.

Yes, the ACA changed that a great deal...insurance companies can't deny coverage anymore.

Yes, you have to take personal responsibility for your health and not make me pay for it in emergency rooms.

Bullshit. I would bet most of us here seldom if ever saw a doctor from age 18-30.
It doesnt matter. Yeah, that's the mantra of Democrats and this adminsitration: Fuck you, suck it.

HA! And you go around slamming people for ignorance about the law???

Nothing about the insurance companies' bottom line has changed - only details of what insurance policies supposedly cover. They still make their money by NOT paying out for claims, by denying coverage. And idiots like you have have chained us to them for life.

Insurance companies used to be able to deny people for pre-existing conditions, now they cannot. Yes, they can still deny services...which is why insurance companies providing health care is a horrible idea in the first place...but this is the system we have.

It does matter...when they wrap their first car around a light pole...then we all pay for it in the most expensive manner possible.

This cracks me up. It's a "horrible idea", and you're fine with forcing everyone into it. Dumb on top of dumb.

we get it, you have been brainwashed by the left wing bullshit and lies.

I don't care if obama is black, white, green, or blue. Why is it that you libs always have to inject race into every issue? BTW, I like Ben Carson and Mia Love. You don't, so I guess you are the racist.

The real problem is that people now think that an insurance policy should cover 100% of their healthcare needs. In the past health insurance was hospital insurance, it covered you if you went to the hospital or "wrapped your car around a pole". It did not cover routine doc visits and routine prescriptions. Those were paid out of pocket. Why should your insurance pay for you to get treated for a cold or a cut finger?

Yes, five old men just told the women of America that their employers can dictate what they do with their Lady Parts.

This is a great day for Conservatives.

It tells working women what is in store for them if the GOP ever gets back into power.

Not only this, but did you know Hobby Lobby doesn't give food to it's female and person of color employees? Employers and this rogue supreme court, primarily white virginal men who live in their mother's basements, can literally dictate whether these people live or starve.

Oh... the humanity!

Yes, this horrible stuff must stop........or women will begin dropping like flies.

I think this decision was a defeat for religious freedom.

Can't you see that these low-information voters deserve to have everything they need paid for through our extremely efficient form of government???

No, I'm not "fine with it", but I also don't let perfect be the enemy of good. I've found that life is a lot easier if you deal with the world as it is, not the way you'd like it to be.

There is still a lot to fix with our healthcare system. For me, the "perfect" would be Medicare for all, but that isn't going to happen in today's political climate. A nice "fix" to the ACA would be the inclusion of a Public Option on the Exchange. It would be easy to do, just put Medicare as an option for purchase which would also bolster Medicare by getting more young, healthy people paying for it.

Again, not possible in today's political climate.

The ACA is working as it was designed. It's not perfect, but it's doing good.

Spinning the Hobby ruling

Sure is humorous to watch and consider the different spins, that both sides put on the Hobby Lobby ruling. Watching sneaky pete Al Sharpton, one would have thought they voted to bring back slavery. or do away with welfare checks in total.

Listening to Huckaby, one would think the ruling is gonna make the sun come up in the west, and all will be getting something for nothing, and all slights against pro life folks, will never happen again.

Lets consider one thing, the obama bunch is crooked as snakes, the whole bunch, cant even trust the janitors he has hired to do the right thing. If their lips are moving, they are lying, and have some pre determined reason to lie, to advance their agenda.

The tax payers are gonna take it in the shorts on this deal, win lose or draw, no matter what ruling came down. And thats what Obama had planned from out of the gate.

Right-------------the VA for all americans. Get on the list, you may get an appointment in 6 months--------if you live that long.

careful what you wish for, wytchey. Do you really think the govt can do anything efficiently?

By all means, point out the "lies" and "brainwashing". Healthcare was a top issue in 2008, this is a fact.

The Affordable Care Act is a conservative plan, this is also a fact. It was introduced by Heritage, implemented by Romney, but when it was signed into law by Barack Hussein Obama, it's "socialism".

I apologize for the "black guy" comment. For you it's tribalism, not racism.
