In other words you believe the only hope the Democrats have of ever becoming relevant again is if the Republican Party implodes.I think until now Republicans in Congress looked at Trump as a blank slate that would just sign whatever legislation they pushed his way, so they would tolerate his antics. There appear to be some cracks happening in that marriage of convenience, now that Trump has restated he's not interested in any changes to SS or Medicare, which is like the Holy Grail for the GOP's Cat Food Caucus. As Trump's popularity continues to dwindle those Republicans in Congress are going to be treating the President like a ham sandwich at a bar mitzvah.
No, I think the GOP will tear itself apart of its own accord. Full stop.
