1. Trump’s efforts went so far beyond what you described, which clearly has nothing to do with the president, since they don’t do anything with counting votes. You’re forgetting how he wanted the DoJ to publish a statement lying about fraud. You’re forgetting how he tried to get state legislators to change the electors. You’re forgetting how he wanted Pence to not count votes.1. There was no insurrection. Verifying election results is perfectly legal.
Insurrection-Lite: The Supreme Court Downsizes the “Insurrection” to Largely Trespassing
Below is my column in the Hill on the Supreme Court decision on Friday in Fischer v. U.S. to reject hundreds of charges in January 6th cases for the obstruction of legal proceedings. For many cases…jonathanturley.org
2. Nothing to do with immunity. Trump and the USSC just reduced the "expansive powers" of Federal agencies.
3. Yes we're sure the (34) felonies will be overturned on appeal. So why isn't it happening? Lawfare?
Buzz Kill: The Trump Conviction Presents a Target-Rich Environment for Appeal
Below is my column in the Hill on the most compelling grounds for an appeal in the Trump case after his conviction on 34 counts in Manhattan. There has been considerable criticism of the defense te…jonathanturley.org
4. Biden just said "Mike Johnson is DOA". Is that a threat on Mike's life? Does that mean that Navy Seals should shoot Mike? Trump doesn't have cronies like a mob boss. Most need senate approval to work in an administration dumbass.
2. No, they didn’t just reduce executive power. This is the same SCOTUS that said it was fine for Trump to block entire nationalities from entering the country and build a wall with billions of dollars that Congress never approved. The president had authority over the DoJ, that alone should be enough to scare the crap out of you over this decision.
3. Trump will get his appeals. Just be patient. If the courts will protect Trump from malicious prosecution, why do we need immunity again?
4. Trump has cronies. Fewer last time than he’s bound to have next time. For example when he replaced Pence with Vance who admitted he would have taken Trump’s orders on the vote counting in 2020.
