The Blinders On The Left

...FDR and Obama, both rescued our nation from the incompetency of their Republican Predecessors.

The Great Depression had much more to do with industry fatcats in conglomerate with the biggest scamming bankers the world had ever seen pulling a fast one on global commerce to consolidate power and further cement oligopolies/plutocracies than any government involvement of the time.
These same types of people are still pushing agendas to consolidate more and more and more into their own circles, and politically they exist on both sides.

FDR implemented debt policies to keep the starving man afloat. We needed no additional policies during the housing collapse to feed families as welfare was already in place. The market recovered after the big scare on it's own damn volition, and not Obama, nor Obama's admin or the government in general did a damn thing but sold the people out on even more debt which went into the hands of banking cartels and stock frauders.

You must be a blind man, or one of poor voracity for the truth.

For the most part, when it comes to communism, Socialism, and every iteration thereof, Leftists cannot see or recognize any iniquity.
And that extends to refusing to admit the success of the economic and political thesis known as conservatism.

One Liberal wrote this in a recent article in the WSJ:

"It is time to admit that American liberalism is in deep crisis: a crisis of imagination and ambition on our side, a crisis of attachment and trust on the side of the wider public.
Ronald Reagan almost single-handedly destroyed the New Deal vision of America that used to guide us."
The Liberal Crackup

Let's go over the reasons for this.

They...Liberals, Democrats, Socialists, Marxists.... so very much want communism to be correct and successful, that the Left's pundits both ignore the truth, and lie about it.

1. "...Western leftists [suffered from] an intellectual disability when they gazed upon the Soviet Union....they failed to notice the transformation of their own...economies by Reaganism....

Almost all the intellectual energy of ....leftists was spent in attempting to demonstrate the failure of [Reagan's] policies by criteria that were short-term, parochial, and irrelevant to the dramatic character of the economic changes that [Reagan's policies produced]."
John O'sullivan, "The President, the Pope, and the Prime Minister: Three Who Changed the World," p.257-258

2. One cannot help but laugh when reading the prognostications, predictions, pronouncements from one Leftist after another.... John Kenneth Galbraith, Lester Thurow, Paul Samuelson, Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., Seweryn Bialer, Strobe Talbott.....one after another praising the success of the USSR, and claiming how tales of impending demise were simply untrue.

And this....right up to a year before the Soviet collapse!!!

Yet....these are the 'experts' taught to this day in our universities.....and the real expert, Ronald Reagan....despised in those precincts.

3. The 'dupes' were still viewing Potemkin Villages.
A dupe is one who is easily deceived or fooled. As far back as Washington’s Farewell Address, we find the warning against dupes: “Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.

In the early years after the Bolshevik Revolution, the communists used manipulations, such as the Potemkin Villages, to persuade the world how admirable and successful the revolution had been. One technique was to invite prominent American and British leftists to take carefully planned tours. And these ‘Potemkin Progressives,’ for the most part, behaved and thought just as they were meant to. Lenin, and then Stalin, carefully arranged the tours so that these progressives would then go back to their countries and praise Soviet Russia, and tell of the amazing success of communism. See Dr. Paul Kengor, Hoover Institution, Stanford “DUPES: How America's Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century

For dupes such as these 'Potemkin Progressives'.... John Kenneth Galbraith, Lester Thurow, Paul Samuelson, Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., Seweryn Bialer, Strobe Talbott...trips to Potemkin Villages wasn't necessary. Long after Franklin Roosevelt has sworn that Communist Russia was what we should honor, and hope to be, they continued to carry that banner.

Imagine how quickly any college course telling the truth about the Soviet Union, or revealing the success of Reagan's economic policies...

...would be shut down.

Today, in 2017, we are instead seeing a cowardly parade of hatred, bigotry, racism, and intolerance march down the lawns of the architect of our Bill of Rights ... I am beyond disgusted by this unsanctioned and despicable display of visual intimidation on a college campus."

As to #4 above:

"The Great Depression lasted from 1929 to 1939, and was the worst economic downturn in the history of the industrialized world. It began after the stock market crash of October 1929, which sent Wall Street into a panic and wiped out millions of investors. Over the next several years, consumer spending and investment dropped, causing steep declines in industrial output and employment as failing companies laid off workers. By 1933, when the Great Depression reached its lowest point, some 15 million Americans were unemployed and nearly half the country’s banks had failed."

FDR was inaugurated the first week of March, 1933. He, like Obama later, had no game plan on how to respond to the economic mess left to him by his predecessors.

Now, for those who want to read the link, and compare it to the Minister of Truth's story, PoliticalChic, who revises history to suit her biases, will have an understanding of why conservatives hate FDR and Obama, both rescued our nation from the incompetency of their Republican Predecessors.

Is this correct or not, half-head?

"During this seven-year recovery, the economy grew by almost one-third, the equivalent of adding the entire economy of West Germany, the third-largest in the world at the time, to the U.S. economy. In 1984 alone real economic growth boomed by 6.8%, the highest in 50 years. Nearly 20 million new jobs were created during the recovery, increasing U.S. civilian employment by almost 20%. Unemployment fell to 5.3% by 1989.

Real per-capita disposable income increased by 18% from 1982 to 1989, meaning the American standard of living increased by almost 20% in just seven years. The poverty rate declined every year from 1984 to 1989, dropping by one-sixth from its peak. The stock market more than tripled in value from 1980 to 1990, a larger increase than in any previous decade."

"FDR implemented debt policies to keep the starving man afloat."

I am happy to see you instructing that fool.....but....there were no 'starving men" during the Depression.

"According to my quick reading of the Life and death during the Great Depression by José A. Tapia Granadosa and Ana V. Diez Roux, the only noticeable increase of mortality was suicide, with a noticeable decline of mortality in every other category.

It's interesting that this paper was written in 2009, before the (shall we say) sensationalist Russian claim of 7 million deaths.

According also to Michael Mosley, life expectancy actually rose through the Great Depression. In his Horizon programme Eat, Fast and Live Longer he claims

From 1929 to 1933, in the darkest years of the great depression when people were eating far less, life expectancy increased by 6 years.

seeing as the US diet was far higher than starvation standards before the GD, even a serious reduction would have been unlikely to induce starvation level conditions in the majority of the population. And with enough food available overall, and the US always having had a very active local charity network, it's quite likely there would have been help for at least the majority of those who could not afford to feed themselves. In fact for quite a few people a somewhat leaner diet may well have contributed to the increased life expectancy. –

They include a table that shows trends in death rates per 100,000 population. Starvation does not appear on the list, nor does it rate a mention in the article. The researchers do acknowledge that malnutrition led to decreased health during the Depression, but not to increased mortality. Malnutrition was a widespread problem, starvation was not.

Importantly, this study shows that economic crisis does not guarantee a mortality crisis, but instead reinforces the notion that what crucially matters is how governments respond and whether protective social and public health policies are in place both during and in advance of economic shocks

How many people in the US starved to death during the Great Depression?

BTW....not only did FDR turn a recession into a depression that lasted five times longer than any other such downturn....

....but he increased unemployment.

Here is an interesting visual: imagine a triple line of the unemployed, three across, consisting of those unemployed under Hoover, in 1931. The line would have gone from Los Angeles, across the country, to the border of Maine.

What effect did Roosevelt have on the line?

Well, eight years later, in 1939, the length of the line would have gone further, from the Maine border, south to Boston, then on to New York City, then to Philadelphia, on to Washington, D.C.- and finally, into Virginia.

keep at it chic, the ignorance of the left must be continually exposed and ridiculed

...FDR and Obama, both rescued our nation from the incompetency of their Republican Predecessors.

Your opinion defies the facts. Of course some of which you post is correct, but half-truths are still mendacious. (d)emocracy in America was pulled from life support when five justices of the Supreme Court equated money with free speech; the same swamp animals who created the economic mess continue to put self interests first, and continue to exploit the vast majority of our citizens by the artful use of demagoguery, false pathos and slight of hand legislation.

For the record, the D's and Obama supported and passed the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the PPACA. All of which were rejected by the Republicans in Congress whose realpolitik constituency is the Commercial Interests of our nation not We the People.

By the way, I'm not blind nor am I a liar. So F.O. if all you have are personal attacks and half-truths.

The stock market crash of 2008 occurred on September 29, 2008. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 777.68 points in intra-day trading. That was the largest point drop in any single day in history. It plummeted because Congress rejected the bank bailout bill. But the crash had been building for a long time.

The Dow hit its pre-recession high on October 9, 2007, closing at 14,164.43. Less than 18 months later, it had dropped more than 50 percent to 6,594.44 on March 5, 2009.

Less than 18 months later, it had dropped more than 50 percent to 6,594.44 on March 5, 2009.

those numbers make my point, no recession, a market correction. BTW, what is the DOW at today?

for the record, I and many others made a lot of money in the market in 08 and 09. It was an outstanding time to buy.

There was no recession, that is a left wing talking point designed to cover up the economic failure known as Obama.

The Great Depression and our great Recession was caused by scamming bankers, wall street, & people in high places of power, the signs were there well be for 1929, same with the Recession, methods to fix the mess, being both good, bad, &varied, as usual we are never prepared even when we know its coming.

Maybe you're simply stupid and not a Damn Liar. But maybe both.

Both housing, the stock markets and unemployment began their recovery during the Obama Administration, no amount of revisionist history will refute those facts. That you believe the crash in Oct. 2008 was not an effect of a failure to regulate by Bush&Co. is a fantasy.

The point being made......and proven by this thread, is that the Left's control of schools and the media allow losers (FDR, Obama, etc.) to be proclaimed winners and winners (Reagan) to be called a loser.

.....I just watched the replay of last night's Yankee-Red Sox game, in which the Yanks were shut out for 7 innings, and came back to score 5 in the 8th....and win.

Now, time for a sports analogy here!

After a Carter-malaise for seven innings, the Yankees [Reagans] beat the RED Sox....but....when you see the re-play the next day.....they call the game for the RED Sox!!!!!
WHAT????
How could this be???

This could only happen if the announcers [academicians, media] are so corrupt, that they claim the losers are winners.

FDR and Obama....losers in every way, and Reagan and conservatism won both domestically and in foreign policy. But you wouldn't know that if you went to a university.

1. "Maybe you're simply stupid..."
The concept of irony has spent the entirety of its existence waiting for you to come along and give it meaning.

2. "Both housing, the stock markets and unemployment began their recovery ..."
It behooves me...as it plays into the concept being developed in this thread.....that the Mortgage Meltdown is a direct result of Democrat policy.

Had not FDR ignored his authority under article 1, section 8 of the Constitution, and invaded....occupied.....the private housing market...
....he created GSE's Fannie, and his drones followed with Freddie, to do something the Constitution didn't authorize: meddle in housing.

There would never.....NEVER....had been Mortgage Meltdown
"... the total lost household wealth at $19.2 trillion. But that doesn’t take into account long-term effects of homeowners who may be less socially mobile — and therefore contribute less to the economy over time."
How Much Did the Financial Crisis Cost?

Gads...when any educated person views the calamities, both domestic and in foreign policy, caused by the Democrats....

...one has to wonder why the party has not been outlawed.

Blinders on the left?????
What's taking place in Virginia is a reflection of the trump administration. People like, Bannon, Miller and Trump as well, have emboldened and have fed into the hate. And what these racist fascist people don't understand, is they're supporting or honoring treason. In their twisted minds, they think they're being patriotic, when in reality they are just terrorists.

#2 Another damn ^^^ lie: The policy for home ownership was a product of both the R's and D's:

December 16, 2003

Today's Presidential Action
"Today, President Bush signed into law the American Dream Downpayment Act of 2003, which will help approximately 40,000 families a year with their down payment and closing costs, and further strengthen America's housing market. This legislation complements the President's aggressive housing agenda announced in 2002 to dismantle the barriers to homeownership"

Based on your flaccid attempt to change the subject, I assume you could find not the tiniest error in the OP that brought you running.

But....if you'd like to try to regain some face.....take another try:
