The documents were Trump's own documents, his own writings and correspondence.

Copies of these documents were saved as required by law.

As per law Trump was the Declassifying Agent for these documents, meaning he declassified them, making it legal for him to take with him.

As reported, a law actually exists that allows / allowed him to do this....no matter how much butt-hurt and ignorance you have leading to your uneducated, WRONG OPINION above.

The Clintons, Obamas, and others have all taken documents with them, making your claim Trump can't look petty,ignorant, and immature.

What is not speculative is that President leaving the White House is subject to Presidential Records Act. He does not own documents relating to the presidency, they are public property and must be stored at national archives.
