Chauvin's fate is reduced down to an emotional issue that's become politics.

But there's something much bigger than that involved. Chauvin appeard to be demonstrating to Americans that he had a right to murder a black man in broad daylight. And he even kept one hand in his pocket to bring home the point that he could do it with impunity.

Don't you think the verdict on Chauvin will set America's course for the foreseeable future? I think this is the watershed issue that the extreme right has waited for in expectation of sealing it for black people.

I'm even beginning to think that it all could have been prearranged because it's just too ugly and prefect to have happened by chance. I see some possibility of the prearrangements being the near perfect setup for Chauvin's defense. They chose a black victim who could be just alive enough to be murdered by a cop soon enough to make it look to have the right effect. Clever! Sends the perfect message to all black men!
That is: yer fkn dead if you do so much as jay walk!

I don't believe the rightwing claptrap that Mr. Floyd had deadly amounts of some drug in his system.

Were it not for Chauvin and that knee to the neck, George Floyd would be alive and well to this day.

From watching the trial, I find out that the police actually called the police, on the police.

That doesn't bode well for Chauvin. Yet another nail in his coffin.

Chauvin walks a free man.

Quite the opposite. I'd bet the guy needs to live under guard all the time now and if cleared of charges of KILLING Floyd, someone makes an attempt on his life.

Of course since Floyd's health was substandard, weakened by years of drug use, and he might have had a medical episode that day with or without the arrest, no jury will ever convict Chauvin of murder beyond any doubt of killing Floyd.

Chauvin walks free, charged because of his badge and color of his skin more than what he did or the way he did it, which was actually following police SP.

BOTTOM LINE: when three cops feel it necessary to pin your ass to the ground, that might be a good sign that maybe it's time to say instead: "Yes officer, what can I do to make your day easier?"

Chauvin visibly overreacted and his team mates did not react enough. There is little excuse for what happened that day. Floyd got himself into the situation by his poor choices in life. He would not have been under that knee if he had not chosen so poorly. The two cannot be separated. Chauvin's wrongful act cannot be pardoned, but if we are to forgive Floyd, forgiveness must reach further.

1. What was police protocol while using this type of submission tactic at the time.

2. Why was Chavin’s left hand in his pocket during the applied force?

3. If Floyed was resisting, and being combative, would he have needed both hands free?

Not to mention, we have seen recently, the courts bend to outside pressure, and threats of violence. BLM has a strong presence outside the courthouse, and the jury is not sequestered.

In any case, at this moment, I’d say it doesn’t bode well for Chavin....
