The only argument the Republican Party can offer is to claim government's intercession on the repeal of the ACA is it is Socialism. A claim which is absurd and an appeal to emotions.

Our government was founded by We the people to, "form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity".

Common sense suggests the current iteration of Republicans (RINO's) have move so far to the dark side, that the meaning of the Preamble has been lost.

What do I mean by the Dark Side?

The R. Party's use of Wedge Issues, their lust for power and greed. No one will be able to equate any of the visions highlighted in the Preamble which is part of the current ideology under Trump and the miss-named Freedom Caucus.

The current attack on the ACA proves the point made in my final paragraph above. The members Congress in the Republican Party caucus put lobbyist perks and campaign donations (bribes) by the Insurance Industry, and the Pharmaceutical and Medical Complex well ahead of the people.

How that is found funny is beyond belief. The only argument is, there is nothing in COTUS which allows the ACA or any government involvement in health.

Not only is that stupid, it is hypocrisy also well beyond belief. They applaud Executive Orders by trump, and yet no mention of that power exists in COTUS.

My problems with ACA is several.
1) It did nothing to address rising premiums. In fact, of course, it made premiums higher. Premiums after ACA was passed rose quicker than before.
2) It did not address rising deductibles, in fact, of course, deductibles skyrocketed after ACA for everyone.
3) For many, ACA is really catastrophic care masked as health insurance. When you have a deductible in the $1,000's that you have to pay before you receive any benefits...that is , by definition, catastrophic care.
4) People whose incomes are low, get better coverage than those who have to pay for ACA. Reversing the problem, not solving it.

I've read COTUS numerous times, and completed ConLaw and many other pre-law courses in College.

Your claim is, Art I, sec 8 limits the power and influence of the Federal Government, and, the 10th A. allows for States or the people to decide on issues which are not reserved to the Federal Government or denied to the states. Furthermore, the 9th A. states rights confirmed on the people are not limited and other rights are retained by the people.

It seem to me that the Preamble,

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America"

Along with Art I, sec 8, clause 1, to wit: "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States"

Now, pay closer attention to a) textualism and b) the phrases in bold. Together they call for the general Welfare and common defense do they not?

Now, is health important to you? How many Americans die of Cancer, Diabetes, Stokes and incestuous diseases in a single year, and how many from the invasion by a foreign power?

Set aside textualism for the moment, blood letting was a common practice used by doctors in the late 18th century. Executive Orders do not appear in COTUS, and of course the 1st A. protects a free press from being abridged by The Congress. Easy to infer that would include Senators and Members of the Congress should not support a President who abridges (curtail - a right or privilege) the press daily.
