The good guy, the civilian...used an AR-15 to stop the killer since the police weren't there....

Yeah...because morons like you made that church a gun free zone.....so it was only after he left that someone with an AR-15 was able to keep him from killing more people...since the police were still not there....so the civilian with the AR-15 civilian rifle had to shoot the guy, then follow the guy, then he kept his AR-15 trained on the guy till the police finally managed to arrive...

Get rid of gun free zones...they are getting innocent people murdered.
Yeah, right, that's what we need.

Churches full of gun-owning imbeciles shooting at each other.

You know, my room mate and I were talking about this, and instead of coming up with the solution of arming everyone in churches, she came up with a better idea.

Remember after Sandy Hook and parents started buying their kids bullet proof backpacks so they would have something to hide behind? Well, why not do the same thing with the cushions in the church pews? Make 'em out of Kevlar and make them bullet proof for your basic guns. That way, when the shooting starts, they can hide behind the cushions and maybe would be able to make it out of the building or possibly be able to overtake the shooter, because they would have some kind of protection to help them.

Makes a lot more sense than arming everyone.

.is that he was stopped from killing more people by the plumber with the AR-15

Or he was stopped because the people he wanted to kill weren't there.
lied on his background check.

Maybe we should have a lie detector test for anyone buying a firearm?

Or maybe we can do a background check that's a real background check.

You see, here's the thing. The Media has been able to find out about this guy within a day that he had a bad conduct discharge from the Air Force, that he posted crazy shit on his facebook and that he couldn't hold down a job for more than a few weeks. That he slapped his wives around and he was shooting shit up on his property.

you know, because they actually bothered to look.

NOW- imagine that before you let anyone buy a gun, or continue to own a gun, you actually send investigators to look into their past. You know, something called a background check.

Like employers do before they hire people.

Nope. Just take your word for it. If you say on your form you aren't a crazy ex-felon, we'll just take your word for it and give you an automatic weapon! Yupper!

Hey, dipshit...all they had to do was punch in his status to the FBI.....they didn't...it doesn't take a home visit to do that...moron.

The call is still made, and if the info isn't on the database, they have no cause to deny him the firearm.

again, if the media can find this information, the people who make these calls can find the information.

THe thing is, the National Rampage Association has spent years taking the teeth out of background checks.

So here's a simple enough solution. Put the NRA and the gun industry (although I repeat myself) in charge of the background checks. And if one of these guys gets through, then their families have legal grounds to sue the the NRA, the manufacturer and the gun seller.

Easy-peasy.

No moron...the media heard he was in the Air Force and looked him up.....the NICS checks the FBI data base....moron...and the Air Force didn't send the info over....fix that, and the guy doesn't get the guns......it really is that simple.

Do you guys ever think or do research before you post...nothing you posted is even remotely like real life......here is the truth...

Here is a short list of church shootings....the first ones....no one in the church had a gun...the second list, someone had a gun...then a mass shooter showed up....guess where more lives were saved....moron.

Temple massacre has some Sikhs mulling gun ownership

The president of the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin had only a butter knife on hand, which he used to fight the gunman. He was killed, but his heroic actions were credited for slowing the shooter. Guns were not allowed in the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin.

“No guns [were] allowed in the temple,” Kulbir Singh, an attendee of the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, told FoxNews.com. “Everyone knows that it’s not allowed, anywhere in the temple.”

Americans use guns 1,500,000 times a year to stop violent criminals.....you have no idea what you are talking about...

We went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 16.3 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2017...guess what happened...
-- gun murder down 49%

--gun crime down 75%

--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

No....letting normal people carry their legal guns makes more sense.....since mass shooters choose gun free zones....if this guy knew people would shoot back, he would have simply gone to the home of the relatives...

that's nice.

and if they had put his domestic abuse, his felony, and his BCD on the computer, he'd have had less chance of buying a firearm.

But they didn't.

and you want to blame the system, instead of the idiot that didn't add the pertinent information.

Naw, I blame the gun industry for creating a bad system to start with, by intent.

Here's the thing. Teh Credit card companies have no problem finding out about your background before they decide whether or not to give you a credit card. They can figure out every fucking purchase you made since puberty.

The Gun Industry doesn't want to know if bad guys are getting guns. In fact, their business model DEPENDS on bad guys getting guns, because then the good guys will want them, too.

Moron.....all the Air Force had to do was send some paperwork over the fucking internet...some low level clerk failed to do that, if they had...the guy would not have gotten the guns through the gun store, he would have gotten them illegally ....

I think all they have to do is sign on the dotted line, and they get a card, for amounts most can't afford, at rates they can't pay off.
Comparing a credit card to a firearm background check is the height of foolishness.

Um, actually a college student wouldn't have much of a background for either, would they?

The thing is, if you have no history, you get a card, with a small limit and a high interest rate.

If you pay it off on time, you get lower interest rates and higher limits.. That's how that works, buddy. They even have these things called "Credit Scores".

But apparently, you can have an extensive criminal record and still buy a gun. that's just crazy.

No...you can't....they failed to send in the paperwork on the guy....your federal government fucked up........The state of Texas didn't fuck up, they found the guys records and refused to give him a concealed carry permit......your god failed......the government.....suck it up...

and why did it not show up on NICS?

because no one input the data.

How many scenarios have we seen..

"He was such a nice boy, he never raised his voice, went to church every Sunday...

Just can't believe he did this."

Lot of good asking neighbors about allowing someone to purchase a firearm.

They dropped the ball on this one, BIG TIME.

If they hadn't, would he have been able to legally purchase a firearm?

again, I htink we need more to protect us from gun weilding nuts than someone entering a file into a computer properly.

If the Media can find out in 24 hours that this guys was a nut, so could a background check, if we actually bothered to do one of those.

No...you can't....they failed to send in the paperwork on the guy....your federal government fucked up........The state of Texas didn't fuck up, they found the guys records and refused to give him a concealed carry permit......your god failed......the government.....suck it up...

Again, the fact Texas let him buy a gun at all was the problem here.

If the media can find out in 24 hours he was a nut, then so can a background check.

Which again... simple enough solution. Allow the families to sue the gun sellers for not doing due dilligence.

Better idea

Sue the military for not putting needed information on the database.

Might also try to find out why there was no report on his breaking out of an asylum.

The good guy with a gun...was not in the military and he wasn't a cop...he was a plumber with an AR-15 rifle...and he ruined the happy dance of the gun grabbers as they skipped through the still warm blood of the victims...

That darned good guy just had to have the AR-15 civilian rifle......which he used to stop the killer, since the police didn't show up till the guy left the scene.......

Men shot at, chased after Sutherland Springs church shooter

Langendorff said he didn't get a good look at the shooter besides that he was in all black, but he saw and heard the gunfire. He said it seemed like Kelley was shooting a pistol at that point.

The neighbor, who Langendorff didn't know, had what appeared to be an AR-15.

"The gentleman with the rifle came to my truck as the shooter took off, and he briefed me quickly on what had just happened, and said that we had to get him and so that’s what I did,” Langendorff said.

I think the last thing we need is more of you nuts swinging around your penis compensators in churches, thanks.

First, we don't know that the civilian actually shot the guy, or if he shot himself. He drove off, and was found dead later. So there's that.

But the fact is, it's the same old fucking story. Crazy person is able to buy a gun, because you nutters have made it way to easy to get guns, kills a shitload of people, and you go into defense mode.

It's actually kind of tiresome. But do keep your NRA Spooge ready to flood threads when the next tragedy happens. Maybe we should keep a ticker "14 days since last mass shooting".... ooops, we're back down to 0.
You want to take mass shootings down to zero? Okay me too! All the shootings have been done by the left.
Put down your guns lefties.

Might wanna rethink your position dude. We still don't know what the political leanings of the San Antonio shooter are, but now we DO know what the political leanings of the Las Vegas shooter were.....................

He was a Trump supporter.

Las Vegas shooting update: Stephen Paddock a Trump fan

Las Vegas gunman was a Trump supporter and happy with him because the stock market was doing well

A gunshot wound from an AR-15, eh? That's a neat trick.

Better idea

Sue the military for not putting needed information on the database.

Might also try to find out why there was no report on his breaking out of an asylum.

The military isn't a law enforcement arm.

again, we are finding out all this stuff on this guy... with pretty simple background checks.

And the only reason he had that gun from the gun store is a clerk didn't press "Send".....

No...moron......the Federal Background check system is supposed to keep them from buying guns...the Federal Government fucked up, moron....not the gun store, they did their fucking job....

Wrong. That only explains PART of it. Granted, the clerk at the records office failed to transmit the data on his discharge.....................BUT....................you also have to hold the police accountable where he was arrested for domestic abuse charges. Civilian police generally put you in the data base when they take you into jail and process you. My question is, why didn't his conviction for domestic abuse show up? That particular part is handled by the civilian authorities.

And then.................there is the question of how well did the clerk at the gun store check his record?

The clerk at the gun store did the background check....that has been stated....he passed it.....as to the local police...quite possible....and if so, then the government at all levels failed...and the plumber with the AR-15 rifle saved 26 lives....

Okay so add the police to the list! Now add the mental hospital to the list as well!
HUMAN failure caused his ability to purchase! You really think adding another layer of laws or humans can fix that when THREE layers failed?

But....if they only had that extra special, super duper level of bureaucracy to supervise the clerk who was supposed to press the "send" button....then this would have all worked out...

What we need is a new government agency that supervises all of the clerks in the federal government and makes sure they submit all of their paperwork on time.........
