The Jan. 6 Committee plans to vote to subpoena Trump during today's hearing

"Here ya go, Sparky."

"Protests quickly spread nationwide and to over 2,000 cities and towns in over 60 countries in support of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.[22][23][24] Polls in the summer of 2020 estimated that between 15 million and 26 million people had participated at some point in the demonstrations in the United States, making the protests the largest in U.S. history.[25][26][27]

By the end of June 2020, at least 14,000 people had been arrested.[4][38][39] By June 2020, more than 19 people had died in relation to the unrest. ........research from the Nonviolent Action Lab and Crowd Counting Consortium estimated that by the end of June, 96.3% of 7,305 demonstrations involved no injuries and no property damage.

Just how ignorant are you?

Since McGrain v. Daugherty in 1927.

You're welcome.
/----/ So asking a valid, question is ignorant? Ummm, that's very liberal of you. The subject is more complex than you imagine.

1. Congress has no explicit constitutional power to conduct investigations or issue subpoenas. However, such powers are well-established, dating back to colonial-era state legislatures and the British parliament.

2. One objection House members may raise to a subpoena is that the Jan. 6 committee is not properly constituted and therefore lacks the authority to subpoena any witnesses...

3. Only nine members, of the 13 required by House rules, currently sit on the Jan. 6 committee, arguably in defiance of its composition requirements.

Does the poster, 'jknowgood' have a link on his assertions above?
Specifically, on the 'thousands-got-killed'?

Not, the "fuck off" comment. We all know that came from his classes at the Trump University QAnon-School of Public Discourse. ;) ✌️
Your guys locked people in a government building and tried to set it on fire.

Defamation is not rape. And, as we saw in the Kavanaugh hearings, the Democrats and opportunists will try to get money from anyone they can by lying. So, it's why a person is not guilty until proven guilty. Some accusation from an opportunist isn't a reason for guilt. So, where's the proof of rape? DNA? Anything? A hearing by the loonies in Congress is going to find proof? And, what does January 6th and this case have to do with each other? Nothing.
Just having to give sworn testimony is a problem for Trump.
As we all know the poor guy can't even open his mouth without an endless stream of lies pouring out.
This is why he pays attorneys enormous sums of money to silence his accusers out of courts.

You know, you MAGAt Trump apologists are possibly approaching a new low if you can still defend and try to 'splain away this new (rape/defamation) issue just like all the others.

You KNOW he's admitted to creepy, smarmy, sexual predator shit to other people as if he's proud of it or something.

Therefore you KNOW it is probably more likely that he is guilty of what he was accused of.
At least more likely than innocent.

But you STILL can't bring yourselves to do it.
You just can't abandon him, or even question him for that matter!

That is some powerful cult programming!

There is no way the committee can get Trump to testify before the midterm elections. Trump should tell them he might testify in January.

He should wait until "the committee" proves it did not commit high treason like Nancy Pelosi who planned to punch out President Trump with an "invasion of the Capitol Grounds on January 6" load of hubris, the stinky kind in which Nancy Pelosi is so good at getting her hands all dirty.

We see your lie too. Trump did tell the crowd to go to the Capitol and protest. Just Democrats have been calling for violent demonstrations every time a police officer kills a black person. We saw your summer of love in Portland and Seattle with insurrection destruction of personal and government property with people killed as well. But, if you would simple google it, Trump also said to go and "peaceably protest." It's on tape. So, this stupid committee can behave like children who didn't get their cookies but that video with Trump stating "peaceably protest" will hang the Democrats.

After 6 weeks of inciting violence.

Ah, good postr 'beautress'......have you thought of going back on de-caff?

You seem a tad high-strung today, a bit flighty...... what with your misogyny towards the Speaker of the House and your assertion that she should be executed.

Are you OK? Is QAnon putting too much pressure on you?

That's fake-news and the good poster BS must know that.

But, did all here see the videos of our legislators in a secure location while the Trump-incited attackers beat the crap out of the police, pooped on the floors of the Capitol, and threatened to kill our Vice President?

Well, if you didn't I'd recommend you catch PBS's full-airing of the hearing online.
To me, what it showed was Nancy Pelosi --- managing; communicating; organizing. Nancy Pelosit, in the videos aired, showed herself to be a woman clearly beset by a novel and frightening event, even a physically dangerous event......yet, she was cool, in control of herself, and attempting to build consensus with the Dems & the Repubs who were all sheltering with her from the Trump instigated mob.

And that was in contradistinction to the testimony of what DTrump did for 3hours. He sat on his butt and watched the telly as our Capitol was being attacked and vandalized and it's uniformed protectors being savagely beaten by his supporters.

Quite a dichotomy. IMHO
It is the natural progression of denialism for these MAGAt Trumptards.
It may be related a genetic mutation in their brain development that makes them more immune to actual factual evidence of things and more susceptible to bullshit, whacko speculation, conspiracy-theory, alternative reality thinking.
It makes them extremely easy prey for things like con-artists and cults.

But the progression goes like this:

First, they will make some outlandish claim (like "it was Nancy Pelosi's fault the National Guard wasn"t called," for instance.)

Then, when you inform them they are wrong and tell them there is evidence to prove it they will refuse to look at the evidence......claiming it "doesn't exist" simply because they refuse to look at it.

Then, when confronted with the evidence they will claim that it isn't "real"....is "liberally slanted"....is "edited"....is "fabricated/biased/fake news," ect......

And then they'll circle back to the beginning.
"Oh yeah....PROVE IT!"

That would be true if the map were correct, which it is NOT!

The Ellipse is shaped like an ellipse, dumbass. It is right under the words "Washington, DC" on your map. I have been there several times.
The map doesn't label where Trump was standing as he gave his speech. He was standing on the Ellipse, which, yes, is shaped like an ellipse. As I said (very clearly), it borders the Mall to the north.

The crowd was mostly gathered to the south of him, on the Mall, where the big red spot labelled "Crowds Gather at Trump Rally" is.

I don't get the disconnect. It couldn't be much more clear.

Nancy the coward.

I quite agree with poster Mac. The Committee, by and large, is preaching to the choir. People who have already negatively decided on the nature of the character of Don Trump are watching. Probably hoping that a 'smoking gun' will be revealed. The 'got-him-now' moment. I think many are looking to see if there is a connection ---(Roger Stone?)---between Trump and the violent insurrectionists. Alas, THAT has not been shown, to date.
Still, as poster Mac offers...he's 'glad the committee' is investigating and showing America what they have discovered. I am too. I look at it as a beneficial exercise to inform the American public and establish for the record and history what occurred....who said, saw, and did what at what time and to what effect.
THAT is a good thing.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Indeed. DonT was informed, he knew, that many in that crowd were armed, were angry. And then he inflamed them more with his "fight"* rhetoric, as did his co-conspirator on that stage, Rudy G. And he sent that armed angry mob directly at our legislators anyway. He recklessly put our elected officials in harms way.

A single comment of 'go peacefully' was buried in the other inflammatory urgings. And clearly not heard, or if heard....manifestly ignored. A small fig-leaf many are scrambling to say 'covered' him.

Noper. I am not.
Nor is the Committee.
What I heard is that Don Trump was referenced time and time again by key players in this drama.
It would be negligent if the Committee did not ask this central player to come in as a key witness and tell America what he saw, believed, and did. To set the record for history.

Don Trump should be honored to come before the American public and explain to us his perspective on how the violent events of January 6th developed. America, and history, would be poorer if he didn't make the effort to tell his side of the story.

And, if the stars align right for America and history, him coming forward as a witness may encourage the other 50+ insiders who have, to date, plead for 5th Amendment protections so as not to criminally incriminate themselves. (Trump's lawyer, Eastman, plead it...146 times!)
We should all hope then, for a fuller, more complete historical record.

-------------------------------------------------

Such an expressed sentiment, some may say, elicits the speculation about what comes first: Being an incel, or being a misogynist?
A chicken or egg conundrum?
How about being a Patriot with intelligence.

I'm sure he's glad to finally be subpeona'd so he can come tell his side of the story.
Lmao!

Are you REALLY naive enough to actually believe his attorneys are going to let this fool say anything under oath?

The surest way to guarantee a jail sentence for perjury/contempt is for Donald Trump to swear to tell the truth .....and then to speak.

"The president was fired up about the Supreme Court decision," she told the committee. "The president just raging about the decision and how it's wrong and 'why didn't we make more calls' and his typical anger outburst at this decision."

"He said something to the effect of, 'I don't want people to know we lost, Mark. This is embarrassing. Figure it out,'" she said."

And there you have it.
"I don't want people to kniw we lost Mark. This is embarrissing."

He knew he lost.
But he still pushed THE BIG LIE.

His master Vlad told him "that's how we steal elections in Russia."

Fucking nutjob...

Tell us how the moon landing was fake and George Bush set explosives to fake 9-11.....

The committee just subpoenaed DJT.

He will obviously fight it in court to delay his appearance past January when the GOP takes over the House and kills the committee.

The ONLY reason the Reichstag Fire committee pulled this is a desperate attempt to distract the public from what a fucking disaster they are in hopes of salvaging the mid-terms.

If this doesn't work, no doubt Bought and Paid for will say that the election is a danger to our democracy and cancel it.
