My kids are (again) enrolled in a Summer program for high-ability students. The orientation was at 6:00 p.m. There were about 300 people there. Of those 300 people, there was the usual mixture of Asians and Indians. I also counted about 10 black people, one of which was a black father, and no Hispanics.
Where the school is located, the black population is greater than 75%. Here are some of the requirements:
They even provide scholarships to students who demonstrate both financial need and academic merit.
In Little Rock, blacks make up about 42% of the population, Hispanics account for 4.7%.
So what seems to be the problem with the Blacks and Hispanics??? The other minorities were well represented.
(Please feel free to comment. That includes the closet racists of USMB. I'd really like to know what the problem is and what can be done about it.)

- Recommendation of a teacher for student to participate in a program for high ability students
- Score of 120 or above on an IQ test
