The Stupidity and Immorality of the new O/T Regs

Yup, and those salaried positions are now those more than $48,000, so they will continue, nu?

and all the people that were salaried and making less than that will not make a dime more
Sure. On overtime. And they cannot be fobbed off on comp time.

Tell you what? Let the employee make the choice. Oh, that's right the businesses would not permit that. Now the government has made the businesses to permit that.

You assume the companies will pay them overtime

They won't they'll just hire a part time person instead and deny overtime to the formerly salaried now hourly employee

Yeah demotions from management to plain old hourly employee is fine for you maybe but not for anyone with any ambition

Jobs for more people.

It would be bad enough if congress decided to pass a law but a decree from a lame duck president is insulting.

I think Obama is doing it just to piss republicans off. And a fine job he has done of it.

Between which bathroom to use, which pay plan to use and health care, there is likely going to be a reporting of republican heads exploding spontaneously all across the country.

FOX will carry it live with the Donald ducking and tweeting.

And an elimination of an entire class of entry level management jobs that people could use as a springboard to something better

The employees always had a choice, leave.... You also do know their were other perks in some companies to be salary rather then hourly right?

Company cars ( had one at 23 years old)

Free gas (see above)

Free insurance (see above)

Free health club and all the rest.

None of that matters to Statists like Jake

He doesn't care that people will be moved back to lower paying hourly jobs when an entire class of entry level management jobs gets eliminated

You are wrong again. Of course.

Employees have a say in this matter. But the companies blew themselves up over it.

Not really

When there is no benefit to having all these entry level management jobs then the positions will be eliminated and those now holding them will have the choice to be laid off or to take a demotion to an hourly position without the pay and perks of their old salaried position and then the company will hire a couple of entry level people to take up the slack so you basically forced a guy to take a pay and benefit cut so a part time person could be hired

That's awesome

We used you type properly for them to prosper and we to become wealthy.

So restaurants like Wendy's begin implementing computerized order taking machines to axe some of those 15 dollar/hr workers. Good job, Dims! Doing what you clowns do best - killing jobs.

No link between the two, an example of why you were fired at your last three jobs.

really? it seems that having to pay less people and keeping more profit is a wholly conservative idea.
McDonalds was floating that idea decades ago, when their average worker was making about was about $1.60 in 1970 and in 1980 it was $3.35
you are falsely blaming the democrats.
