There is NOTHING Trump can do to stop the current economic disaster that is unfolding.

No amount of policies or executive orders can or will make the industries that drive our economic engine recover.
From airlines to manufacturing. It is all taking a hard hit because of THE VIRUS. Until it runs its course all we can do is try to ride the wave.

It is nice to see politicians focusing on the average Joe for once. Bailing out the little man so to speak rather than simply flooding big business with endless cash (Solyndra, banks & Chevy for example)

Blaming ANY OF THIS on ANY POLITICIAN just shows a severe lack of critical thinking on your part.

Do you think the virus would have stayed offshore under Obama, or a Clinton presidency?

Nope. You'd still have a virus here. You just would have had people who understand leadership and how government works in power. The response would have been quicker and more effective, without all the campaign bluster, and we'd be way ahead of the virus curve. But that's what you get when you have a wholly unqualified amateur sitting in the highest office in the land.

Which is what you would have had if Hillary had been elected.

(involved in elections for 50 years, and didn't realize the Electoral vote determines the presidency, not the popular? amateur.)

Not sure where the statement in parenthesis came from as we are discussing qualifications, not who won.
But a career politician (let's set aside the fact that you hate her) versus a reality game show host who can barely string two coherent sentences together?
You've been around long enough. That should be a no brainer. :)

yup, I've been around long enough...

in fact, I turned 70 the day you joined the board.

You didn't understand the comment in parenthesis?

try reading it again reaaallll slow.

If it weren't for Bill, she'd still be trying to get her law license.

No doubt the media will continue to hype this even after the public realizes this virus is no worse than the last one. They're gonna hold onto this as long as they can because it's their only hope of defeating Trump in November. The question is whether or not a Democrat president could have done any better. The answer to that is "NO". The difference is that the media would be downplaying it instead of hyping it to create a panic.

It's not that a "Democrat" president would have done any better --- it's more like a "HUMAN" one would have. You know, like not contradicting himself, not contradicting his own experts, not contradicting all the evidence around the globe, not calling it a "hoax", not sending the stock markets into panic by sending signals of "I have no idea what I'm doing", not being so goddam full of himself that he can't admit there's a shitstorm, not crowing about what a "grate job" he's doing, not dealing with "nasty" questions of why he dismissed the national pandemic unit, not even getting a personal test until he gets shamed into it, you know, normal adjusted HUMAN stuff like that. I don't care if he's a Republican, a Democrat or a freaking Whig. Just have enough balls to get over yourself and come to the realization that no it's NOT about Numero Uno.

NONE of that has anything to do with political parties, much like running a city doesn't. No, that 's all about personal character. Or in this case, abject lack thereof.

What an ignorant hypocrite.

There would be no panic if Obama didn't allow EBOLA in the country to begin with.

Panic is always unjustified. Short of watching an incoming ICBM MIRV, panic only ever causes more problems than it prevents.

The panic that just cracks me up is what we've seen about meteors hitting the earth. People are stupid and they've been stupid about Ebola.

The Ebola panic has just been an excuse to criticize President Obama. Funny because, so far, he's been spot on in his response.

The problem isn't the virus. It's the democrat whipped hysteria. The virus didn't cause the shopping panic last week. That was all democrat induced hysteria.

Sure, buddy. I can see Biden addressing the issue:

Can't stop Hysteria. This is how Hitler came to power by constantly doing what our media does, and whipping everyone in to a fearful frenzy.

What you are witnessing is Fear Mongering and Propaganda at it's finest.
exactly we're in the midst of a takeover.

Sorry, but the problem is NOT this virus.

If the virus didn't exist we wouldn't be having this discussion.
While the media certainly isn't helping matters they are not the source of the problem.
Yes we would. The economic disaster was going to happen no matter what, it’s inevitable. Our monetary system is a sham, and I believe that is by design. There’s a hell of lot more going on here than a patented virus and the public being purposely whipped up into a frenzy. Some people are saying this “pandemic” is being used as a scapegoat, so that people don’t finally realize what the real problem is. It’s definitely being used for power grabs.

I can see virtually ANYBODY addressing the issue. Anybody, that is, who's not completely infected with the ME-ME-ME AND DID I MENTION ME virus.

That asshole in post 28 for example...

Next time you vote, just remember that the U.S. may need a leader that can lead through the worst of times. Instead of just twitter trolling through good times.

Do you believe the virus has "stayed offshore"?

Clarifying your intentions.

Do you believe the virus has "stayed offshore"?
Meaning it does not exist within the Us?

Just the opposite.

I'm saying, that with better (Democratic) leadership, as so many on here have claimed, the virus would not be having the effect on our country it is.

DESPITE the fact that every country in the world is having the same problems.

Where in the wide world of fuck do you get that idea? If Clinton "didn't realize" how the Electoral College works, why would she have been campaigning here in North Carolina (via hologram according to this board) and not in Texas or California where there are way more votes?

Bizarro post. :cuckoo:

Yes she did. And she lost because of it. But her campaign tactics and strategy have nothing to do with her qualifications. She is a career politician and public servant. She understands the function of government and how it's supposed to work. Any experience she brought to the table would have been head and shoulders above what Trump and his yes men have offered. Do you really think we'd be having this discussion if it were say, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, or Jeb Bush in the White House? No we wouldn't. Why? Because these men have all been public servants. They understand the game.
