This Country Is Tearing Apart At The Very Seams

So now we have liberals bashing the John Birch Society. This organization was formed when it became obvious that some US citizens who had come (or their ancestors had come) from third world countries who couldn't hack it in a capitalist system were forming communist or socialist societies or organizations. Obviously we can't tolerate anti-American ideas here. The John Birch Society was formed to participate in political fights against those third world types espousing anti-American ideas.

I know part of the answer to that question involves Trump

Lessee, you wonder about a problem that has been developing for over 20 years and think it involves Trump who's been in office for only THREE years and never even in politics before that. Do the math. Now maybe you have an idea what is gnawing at your brain. Stupidity.

The new generation of young workers will ensure the strength of the nation
Talk about unmatched productivity.

I have to admit I have an obsession. It gnaws at me. I am frequently preoccupied with it, searching for a solution to this puzzle only to be disappointed and frustrated.
The rest of your post belies you actually looking for a solution.
How did this country get to the fractured, broken place that we currently find ourselves in?
We got there because people such as yourself continue to believe this bullshit:
It’s the legacy of toxic nativism, hateful racism, know-nothingism and general selfish assholishness. There is a strain of person in this country that are frankly dumber than a stump and arrogant about it. Removing Trump either by a vote in the Senate or during the election won’t remove these people, they’re with us to stay.
Ya, the problem is the OTHER, those other people over there. The ones that are not you.

As long as you and others continue to demand that the problem is other people are just to damn dumb to agree with you not to mention you are calling them hateful racists, there is going to be a deep division. I cannot imagine why people you are pointing out as hateful racists and dumb as a stump don't agree with you or are fundamentally opposed to what you want to accomplish....

Enlighten me :)
Sure.

Provide your evidence, factual, to the notion that Republicans think that the prison industry is the solution to problems caused by the suffering poor.

This evidence will detail prominent Republicans who say that the poor would not suffer like they do if they just went to prison.

When you fail to find that information, you'll be enlightened.
And what about the 'facts on the ground' factor of it all?
Not everything that's provable has to be admitted to in public by Republican officials, after all.
You made the statement. That means you have to have made it knowing that Republicans have taken this stance.

I asked you to provide your proof because anything I would provide would just be disbelieved. That is the normal M/O here. So, if you believe it, you can provide evidence of it being true, no?

no, i can't. :(
And now that you have been enlightened - filled with the knowledge that believing something does not make it so - will you open your mind to the truth or just crawl back into your bubble?

With apologies to R Reagan:
It's not only that our leftists are monumentally ignorant but rather that so much of what the "know" just ain't so.
I'll retreat back into what i do know : that Republicans are big supporters of the prison industry as a solution to crimes caused by the poor. Poor that are kept poor by Republicans and 'the rich'.
The evidence is all over Hollywood's output.

The younger generations are worthless. I can't wait until I can walk into a McDonald's restaurant and enter my order on a computer and have the computer prompt the machines to make a burger and fries. There will be no need for worthless fast food workers.

Well, skews13's brain IS quite skewered. I would attribute this to their SEVERE TDS. There's not much that could help this poor sonofabitch. They're doomed..........

I know part of the answer to that question involves Trump, but it’s far more than just that. It’s much deeper and has been in the works for much longer than the political prominence of Donald J. It goes back decades. It’s the legacy of toxic nativism, hateful racism, know-nothingism and general selfish assholishness. There is a strain of person in this country that are frankly dumber than a stump and arrogant about it. that's pretty much it in a nutshell. Good article.

Agree

I tend to think that it has more to do with some feeling they are losing their country to non-whites. They'll (white racist bigots) be dead in a decade or two and the ones remaining it won't matter as they will be outnumbered.

What metric are you using to arrive at that opinion?
Are you talking about the millennials who grew up raised by Facebook, MTV and The Kardashians? The ones who never went camping, never mowed a lawn or turned a wrench...the ones whom aspire to own a weed dispensary or be professional gamers ..the ones who spend most of their day stoned out of their minds...those young workers?

Skewered. Like little pieces of fried meat mixed with pieces of mushroom, pineapple and pepper?

Nope, skewered as in f*cked up.

Those are but a tiny little smidgeon of millennial workers. The vast majority are hard workers. Employers have it made big time. So unbelievably easy to find good workers today.

Legacy of?

I think those things are more a symptom of deeper underlying problems that might be global in nature.

it was formed because the Corporate Leaders lost the ability to call on the Federal and State Governments to do their bidding when those "Workers" got out of line. In 1946, GE and Westinghouse workers in the Appliance Divisions demanded that the promises that were made to them to work at frozen and reduced wages during WWII be raised to what was promised. The promises were reneged on so enmass, they went on strike. Both companies demanded that the Governors send in the National Guard to quell the strike. You see, the management brought in armed bully boys and the workers armed as well. One of the Governors went to President Truman and demanded that he be allowed to use the National Guard for that purpose. Truman, more or less, told him to go suck eggs and if he tried it, he would nationalize the National Guard in his State and place them there to protect the workers. Before, it was traditional to use the State Guard to break strikes. it was a forgone conclusion that Ike would have done the same thing. What Ike did was form commissions so that both the labor and management could talk things out to try and avoid a strike. And those commissions still exist today. This is the real reason that the JBS was formed in 1958. To make sure that no one like Ike could ever be President ever again. Well, they were successful in their wildest dreams. Except for the 2 years that Ike had left in office. But, obviously, he was a communist traitor, right?

I am an employer...this era of worker is absolutely worthless, the majority can’t be referred to as ‘worker’...they are a warm body...that’s all.

When I worked, I was sought after for many jobs. I heard the comment when I asked why. I got the answer, "Because you aren't afraid to work". The problem was, some of the not so hard workers played Politics and convince some of the bosses that some of the really hard workers weren't hard workers or just F....ups. For the most part, many just did enough to just through the day. So I agree with your assessment from a workers point of view. But also, some that aren't worth a damned are promoted above those that are carrying the business in labor. I once heard a saying, "it's not whether you are doing the better job, it's making the other guy look like he's doing a worse job". What a way to get a promotion.
