This is why we need to tax the wealthy

I really find it bewildering you people do not understand the harm of huge tax cuts. It’s just so goddamn obvious logic. Yes, spending is too high - you are correct. This however is only half of the problem. If you pass massive tax cuts and do not reduce spending, the deficit is obviously going to be even higher. That is exactly what Trump and republicans do

And taxing the evuuuulllll rich 10000% would do what? fund your worthless ghetto mama welfare programs for what, one day?

There might be times for that. Not with the debt we have long had though.

Obama did it also. Well, he continued the Bush tax cuts and ran up the debt.

TRILLIONS in untaxed wealth. Good luck explaining this to republicans I guess. You have to explain the difference between the official tax rate and the EFFECTIVE tax rate of top earners.
If you taxed the wealthy, it would not amount to more than a few billion since many of them are not American citizens and know how to utilize the tax system to pay lower taxes.

lol god you people are such morons. You lack any sort of nuance in studying political issues. You have this black and white childish view that is removed from reality. No moron. I don’t want to tax the rich that much. I don’t even want to tax them to the point we eliminate billionaires. It’s okay we have billionaires. Rich people in general are important for the economy. However, the problem is simply how wealthy they are at the expense of the poor and middle class. Obviously it’s a problem the top 1% of earners have more wealth than the bottom 50% of workers COMBINED. Obviously it’s a problem corporate profits are at an alll time high while the middle class shrinks and poverty rises.

My economic philosophy boils down to this: we need a strong, robust middle class. We haven’t had one since the 90’s. Any worker working 40 hours a week should not
Have to live in poverty. Both of those issues can be fixed without eliminating the wealthy class.

Was that nuance too complicated for you? Let me know if I need to use smaller words.

He wanted to just keep the Bush middle class tax cut that he did end up making permanent. He had to continue the tax cut for the wealthy to appease republicans in Congress

1. The Super Rich OWN / RUN the USA,,,,do you really think a demented Alzheimer patient is running the wealth of the world ? Trump is an outlier as he thinks outside of their reach while the Democrats are completely in bed with the Royals and the Committee of 300.

2. Tax the Super Rich and watch them move their investments overseas,,,,,,BOOM NO ECONOMY AND CHAOS

So what was Trump’s actual contribution to the debt then? You know the one he managed to skyrocket in just 4 years lol
He spent way too much, he is a typical fiscal liberal, we haven’t had a fiscal conservative President for decades and decades.

You do know revenues have increased after every major tax cut has been implemented, right Simp?

Remember the yacht tax implemented topunish the rich? What happened? The rich bought their yachts overseas and the working folks building yachts in America lost their jobs.

Dimwingers are colossal morons.

Nope thats fallacious. You’re referring to the raw dollar amount that goes up every year regardless of policy unless we are in a recession. Tax receipts do not reflect the actual value of revenue. The reason why the dollar amount goes up every year is because of inflation. More dollars are needed to fund the same programs at the same value they were at. Because of inflation, the true way to measure the value of revenue is by computing it as a percentage of the GDP. Under republicans, that percentage went down

Bullshit. He didn’t have to keep them because of Republicans.

Man, you are economically illiterate. Revenues went up. Period.

Spending is why deficits went up.

Nope you’re a simpleton who doesn’t understand economics. That dollar amount goes up EVERY YEAR REGARDLESS OF ANY POLICY. It has to. It has to go up because more raw dollars are needed for the same programs.

So you think high confiscatory taxation is the answer? You really think a top executive really needs to make the same amount as the entry level janitor?
Basically, yes.

The janitor usually ends up working a lot harder than the exec.

Iger is on target to lose a billion dollars this year, does that qualify him for the millions he makes?

You're not asking the right question.

Think macroeconomics.

Why do we need so much liquidity?

And, where do funds go, that aren't liquid?

Lil Billie.zip doesn’t even know what “nuance” means.

Until and unless the little twit can admit that money retained after taxes are paid cannot be taxed again by the United States, there is non point in trying to discuss this matter with hm

If he comes around to arguing what he really means, that can be dissected reason enough. Short version is that he seems to think that those who make a lot of money somehow owe a higher percentage of what they bring in (per year).

1st: we already have a graduated (so-called “progressive”) income tax. Whether that’s proper a different issue. But it already exists.

2nd: why should a woman bringing in $1m a year pay 35% of that into taxes when a less affluent person who earns maybe $70k have to pay such a significantly lower percentage?

Like Trump he did what he wanted to do. Neither had to do anything.
