Socialism and communism are different, but they both involve far more control of industry than what anyone could reasonably call regulation.

Capitalism and socialism are generally incompatible. At most, a capitalism can have socialized amenities or maybe a few industries that are socialized. The majority of the economy still has to be private, or it's not really a capitalism at all.
