Top U.S. Psychiatrists Confirm Trump’s Narcissistic Personality Disorder, ‘Textbook Case’

But, but, but.... OOOOOOOOOBAMA.

What are you wingnuts going to do when Obama goes into retirement and you won't have him occupying that space in your heads.

Now, back to Trump being a Narcissist. Uh. Yeah. What kind of guy puts his name in HUGE letters on everything he owns?

Doesn't say much about his supporters

A striking number of leading mental health experts are concerned enough about the possibility of a Trump presidency that they’re willing to speak out, publicly, about the candidate’s “Textbook narcissistic personality disorder.”

During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, developmental psychologist Howard Gardner, a professor at Harvard Graduate School of Education, referred to Trump as “remarkably narcissistic,” while clinical psychologist Ben Michaelis used the term “Textbook narcissistic personality disorder,” to describe Trump.

Michaelis went on to explain,

“In the field we use clusters of personality disorders. Narcissism is in cluster B, which means it has similarities with histrionic personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, and antisocial personality disorder. There are similarities between them.”

Would be hard-pressed to find a single President, or Presidential-candidate with no health issues or diagnoses at all. Fact that YOU, out of hundreds of millions of other people outta be the President almost requires a degree of mental illness. :) Megalomania, delusions of grandeur, NPD, etc. If you're perfectly normal and well-adjusted you do other things with your life. :)

We've been trying to point this out with respect to Obama for years.

BTW, are these really leading mental health experts.....or just paid hacks by the Obama administration? Dr. Robert Klitzman is a professor from Columbia university, Barack Obama's Alma mater, and he is on the board of directors of the Journal of Homosexuality.

Right up Obama's alley.

Charlotte Prozan, a feminist with an ax to grind.

These are the so-called leading experts mentioned in your link.

With 14,000 posts in 6 months, are you sure that thing isn't pointed AT you?

I never disqualify myself from my own criticism. I did say EVERYONE on USMB was an attention whore :) (see Post #10)

Why type of mental health professional gives an opinion on the mental state of a subject solely based on what he observes in the media?

Answer: A fucking hack.

we won't know what it is until we vote it in. Yeah that's what sane folks do.

I agree Mr. Trump is probably a narcissist. Diagnosing someone they have never met and then going public with the results seems rather unprofessional of psychiatrists. Very reminiscent of Dr. Kieth Ablow's diagnosing of President Obama.

Many leaders are what psychiatrists refer to as charismatic psychopaths. I believe Obama has been 'diagnosed' as a narcissistic pd and a cp on more than one occasion. I personally think 'diagnosing' people based on their public performance is probably a bit hit and miss to say the least, as well as being unprofessional and misguided.
Any psychological diagnosis is simply a conclusion which is based on observation of behavior combined with certain known factors such as outlined in the DSM. One excellent example of an extremely substantive and credible long distance analysis, which is based entirely on public performance combined with certain known aspects of personal history, is Dr. Justin Frank's excellent book, Bush On The Couch.

Unfortunately it is not likely that anyone who would reflect a perfectly healthy psychological profile would want anything to do with politics -- especially the Presidency.
