The Supreme Court is now in session on Trump's Travel Ban.............Split they are......but trending in favor of Trump.............

Should know the outcome in a while...........

On Day 1 of Travel Ban Case at SCOTUS, Things Look Good for Trump

– President Donald Trump appears likely to win his travel ban case at the Supreme Court, the AP reports. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Anthony Kennedy both signaled support for the travel policy in arguments Wednesday at the high court. The ban's challengers almost certainly need one of those two justices if the court is to strike down the ban on travelers from several mostly Muslim countries. Justice Sonia Sotomayor was the most aggressive questioner of Solicitor General Noel Francisco in his defense of the Trump policy, and the three other liberal justices also raised questions about it. The justices voted in December to allow the policy to take full effect pending their full consideration. Wednesday was the first time they took it up in open court. The Trump administration is asking the court to reverse lower court rulings that would strike down the ban.

The travel ban was supposed to be temporary - while the government took 3 months to get it's ducks in a row and figure out how to better vet. It's been 15 months. What have they been doing in the meantime with all that time?

A timeline of Trump's battle with the courts to keep his travel ban alive

A battle to force the Supremes to issue a final ruling.............So now we will see.

But WHAT have they done in the meantime to fix the underlying problem they claimed the travel ban was put in place for? Anything? Anything at all?

Unless there is a constitutionality challange, the statute giving the president ultimate authority to control imigration policy is quite clear.

All I know is that in temp instances they have banned travel temporarily..........then overruled and then do it again........

It's been a legal stalemate..............seems that for the most part they have been unable to really initiate it except for a very limited scope of 90 days from the 1st Supreme Court ruling.

Rounding up illegals and criminals MS-13 gang members, and sending them out of here.

That has nothing to do with the Muslim ban and it's reasons for being in place. Nice try though.

Power is a two edged sword.............I'm not a fan of giving more power to the Federal Gov't.........but also see that a temp ban is different from a permanent one.........................If in the 90 day veting........some are found potentially dangerous........then a legal ban can be pursued.............

So it's a Catch22............

But they have had all that time to work on the underlying issues - how to improve vetting, if indeed it needs improvement. That's actually not dependent on having the ban in place, but it was the erstwhile reason for the 90 day ban. So what have they done? I haven't heard a thing.

I don't know.............Not sure how the vetting process goes............Don't know how the hell they can vet a country destroyed by War either......paperwork gone and really no witnesses..............Don't see how any can be properly be vetted.

You are a child. There was never any intention of "fixing" anything.

Which proves the idiocy and pointlessness of the Muslim ban, that the ban was enacted in bad faith, and it’s intent was only to appease Trump’s political base.
