Nobody can explain where the amendment came from. It wasn't in the house bill, it wasn't in the senate bill. But when it went to conference it came out of nowhere. The only clue was that one of the conferees said it was inserted in order to get enough votes to pass.

I don't think it screws 98%...at least before the debt bills are due, but here is another way to look at this:

Republicans are blowing their load on this help-the-needy-rich bill and they could not do it at a worse time. Business cycle is clearly topping out, so if this bill passes and a correction phase sets in tax-cutting is pretty much politically dead for a generation.

We've had Bush's tax-cuts that correlated with disastrous economy and if these tax-cuts don't end up correlating to growth on top of current growth there won't be much left of traditional Conservo-Republican economic platform.

If you think Trump's numbers are low now just wait till economy slows even a bit.
