Once we clear the Utah primary on March 22, the entire month of April and the Indiana primary on May 3rd are all in the bag for Trump, and that starts after he wins again in Arizona and splits Utah on the 22nd.

That is a huge number of delegates, and I doubt that the Cruz campaign will survive the month of April to continue the fight into the west Coast states.

I'm telling you folks, this race is for all practical purposes over and in the bag for Trump.

Interesting note; where are the North Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado primaries? Hmmmm? These are likely Cruz states.

Were there no candidate with a (under normal rules) number of delegates for a first ballot win then if only a couple of hundred separate the leaders....then, yes, I could accept multiple ballots and negotiation so long as one of the lead two were nominated.

BUT if there's a railroad job, especially if the nominee is not one of the two leaders, then I would feel licensed to vote for either Mrs. Rodham-Clinton/Lewinsky or Nutty Old Uncle Bernie to add to the total defeat of the "mainstream" leadership.

I feel that would do neither more nor less damage to America than wold be done by a "managed" candidate. And....and....and..........it might help educate the "elite" or, better, destroy them so a new America could arise fro the ashes in the fullness of time.

I wouldn't count Cruz out just yet, he is a shrewd politician, and I think he has some moves we have not seen just yet. It is, essentially a two man race at this point, so watch the gloves come off on both sides soon. Cruz will not go down without a fight, nor will Trump. Either way though, Cruz is getting my vote, even if I have to write his name in myself. I will never vote for Trump, Clinton scares the hell out of me, and well old Bernie...I can't vote for socialism.

Rule 40B reduces those nominatable to those who have won a majority of delegates from each of 8 different states. So far Trump is the only one to have done this and Cruz has a good shot at tit, but I doubt he will. He only has four such states at the moment. Utah and Nebraska are his only states he is favored in and I doubt he can win a majority of anything else.

In chess, when a master loses a pawn advantage to another master, he would typically resign due to the material advantage of his opponent being determining.

But this isnt chess, but a process designed to stack things in favor of the winning candidates so that the process results in a decision prior to the convention.

Given that design in the process and Trumps overwhelming advantage in coming states, I dont see a plausible route for Cruz to win now.

But then again, I am only a dilettante.

Most of the remaining primaries are closed. Trump has received the better part of his support in open conventions. You know, where Democrats can Trojan Horse the process.

You mean like the Florida primary that Trump won by nearly 20%?

Those kinds of primaries?

I have to ppoint out that Ted Cruz is being ripped off quite a bit.

North Dakota, Wyoming and Colorado do not have primaries or caucuses and are likely Cruz states.

Wonder how that got set up? Oh! to help Jeb! keep the nomination, oh well.

We'll see, the polls don't reflect that now.

But never underestimate Trump

Go ask Ravi about her vote in the Republican primary in FL. :D
It's traditional in Florida to register with the opposing party to vote in the primaries. And Trump may have won but if you add up the other candidates they collectively out performed him, just like in other states. That doesn't bode well for Trump.
