If we hadn't made such a big deal of people not saying those three words I would agree with you. This is basically the same line that US leaders having been saying since Dubya. The poor loons on the left must comfort themselves with wordsmithing.
Here's what Trump actually said - he is quite accurate.

'Islamist' is a term meant to apply more to governments and movements than to individuals motivated by their religion to sow chaos.
'This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate human life, and decent people of all religions who seek to protect it,' he said, reading from teleprompters.

Actually, Obabble went to great lengths to avoid saying both Islamic and Islamist. His admin used generic "terrorism" and "extremism" talking points, which were often used to impugn law abiding Americans, such as veterans.
Objection, Your Honor. Non responsive. We made a big deal about Obama not using the three words. Now President Trump isn't using them either. These three words were endlessly brought up by our side. Now our guy fails to say them. That's not helpful as far as I'm concerned. Doesn't mean President Trump isn't credible, it just is freaking puzzling to me.
context and location, the desperation of the left continues into the ridiculous..
