Trump rescues poor and starving countries -

how many countries are in Africa morons?

So, Trump is gonna use US taxpayer money to pay US farmers for their crops because of a trade war that Trump himself started.

Anyone else tired of all this "winning"?

maybe Willie can do a few Farm Aid concerts, and chip in -

Trump says US will purchase crops to offset China losses

so how is all that tariff $$$ helping us if Goldilocks takes the long road ?

what poor country ?

Mexico
Africa

??????????????

When I saw this morning I thought WTF I thought Trump didn't want to rescues other countries. Many U.S. citizen's in depressed parts of our country could use these crops.

If the plan works, the rewards will be worth it.

A lot, but Africa is not a damn country now is it?

List the countries and not the Continent!

quit splitting hairs and name one poor country you approve of feeding ....

All of them, why?

It does not change the fact that you wrote what you wrote.

I would support food programs for Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sudan, Kenya and many more as long as the food supply reaches the people and not the militant groups.

I also support sending food to countries like Venezuela or even Syria for those in need but again not for the brutal regimes that run their countries.

If Mexico is in need I would support a food program as long as it stays out of the hands of the Cartels and gangs...

Does that explain to you or will you say I am lying?

Trumps tariff bs turned into a bee hive and now he's blowing smoke on it to keep from getting stung to death.

It helps the farmers... You know, the ones who don't wine and dine lobbyists, the ones who aren't coastal elites, the ones who don't give speeches to Goldman Sachs? Those people, they're also called his base. It's not a complicated strategy... The overall gdp might suffer slightly in the long term, once he comes out with renegotiated terms from the Chinese(as their largest customer, we have the leverage) he'll have a feather in his cap and he'll look compassionate toward the average person. Which is how you win elections.
Jesus... Does this really need to be explained? You add to that the fact it makes his whole "Trump's a bigoted, racist, xenophobe who hates the world poor" narrative look stupid, he's killing 3 birds with one stone. He'd be stupid to not soften the blow of said trade struggles if he's trying to get re-elected. Look, the guy is trying to play the populist card.
He's a billionaire, who's trying to portray himself as relatable, because he knows that gets him support. It doesn't matter if you think it's hokie or not, all that matters is the farmers got a cut. That's it.

Are you familiar with the classical world? How about Julius Caesar? He's not so blatant as to hand out stolen loot from Iraq and Syria like Caesar did Gaul, nor will he appropriate land from sitting congressmen and give it to the poor; but he knows how to garner support in much the same way. People like to feel good about their country, they like to feel like their interests are being looked out for. That's a message that resonates. Not "We're moving to a service based economy, we will make no effort to renegotiate trade deals, and if you don't live in the areas between Boston and DC, or Seattle to SF Bay, learn to code or drop dead".
