Trump Throws Pro-Lifers Under the Bus

So? That's the act of a single media-whoring Senator from a single state. He has no power to do his will and in reality, he's always been nothing but a self-interested power-hungry shill of DC.
Yet "conservatives" are happy to have him in the Senate.

From your link:

Graham’s own Republican Party leaders did not immediately embrace his abortion ban bill,
That's because they are weasels who don't want to be the first to say anything one way or the other.

Conservatives celebrated the overturning of Roe v Wade with the unrealistic expectation that abortion bans would start popping up in state after state. Several attempts at that have been predictably futile and little to nothing has changed since the ruling was reversed and they've paid that price politically. Apparently, Trump isn't on board either. He specifically cites Florida when talking about the so-called "Heartbeat" legislations passed in states like Florida, Iowa, and Georgia as a "terrible thing."

The past two days, Trump has been unable to answer if a man can become a woman and has criticized pro-life legislation, two high profile issues among his base.

Are you kidding with this?

This is a genius move on Trump's part.

Trump already has the pro-life vote sewn up, particularly if he is running against a fanatical pro-abortionist in the pocket of NARAL as he certainly will be, regardless of who replaces Diaper Joe on the Democrat ticket.

But, by taking a softer stance on Federal abortion bans, especially compared to DeSantis, he takes the moderate position that will not scare off young white women who are suffering under Bidenomics, but would hate to be forced to give birth in a time of mass illegal immigration and homeless encampments ruining once proud cities.

Yes, we did. In 2018, you were super confident it would not be overturned.

Now California and New York can continue to kill its future citizens, and other states can choose to protect the most helpless and defenseless among us.

You agree with him. Seems like you should give him some credit.

Is someone like Trump who would consider a 15-week (3.5 months) abortion ban pro-life or pro-choice? Seems like a moderate to me.

suffering under Bidenomics

Suffering under near-zero unemployment, rising wages, a country not dying from Covid, lower prescription prices, eliminating student debt.

Give me more of that suffering!

Tell that to the evangelicals, or Mike Pence.

With this Supreme Court, there would be no rejection of national anti-abortion legislation if it were worded carefully. After all if corporations can be treated as “persons” … why would our courts not also treat zygotes, tiny embryos and fetuses as legal “persons” too? The anti-abortion movement has been pushing for exactly this for years.

God forbid this MAGA Republican Party were to sweep into power with control of both Houses & the Presidency, because then a newly confident right and evangelical movement — along with the unprincipled and ever flexible Donald Trump — would definitely push for a national law.

Besides, the 10th Amendment does not mention abortion or birth control or gay rights to marry either — nor does it say these intimate issues must be decided by states. All it says is:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Roe vs. Wade was legal and Constitutional and a reasonable compromise decision that recognized limited state interests in regulating abortion in the last trimester of pregnancy.

The most intimate fundamental rights of women are involved here. The natural procreative “power” to carry a fertilized human egg to birth resides in women’s own bodies. The “people” most directly effected — the person whose body provides the life sustaining shelter and sustenance for the unborn for the entire period before birth — is the pregnant women herself. She is also the one generally in the best position — hopefully in consultation with her doctor and trusted loved ones — to make a personal decision about whether or not she wants to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term and give birth.
Best post. Well said.

More government, bigger government at the expense of individual liberty – it’s who and what conservatives are.

Including violating the right of citizens to move freely about the country.

If this were about “states’ rights,” conservatives would respect the right of states to protect the reproductive autonomy of women, not criminally prosecute citizens seeking to travel to other states where’s it’s perfectly legal to terminate a pregnancy.
Abortion has nothing to do with reproduction. A abortion stops reproduction, idiot. Another word-change by the baby killers. Call it what it is, killing a developing human being. I already explained those bills to you and they have 0 to do with wholesale prosecution of citizens crossing State lines. You are lying. You can't even SAY KILLING a developing human being, instead you say 'terminate a pregnancy' of course, that means KILLING the life growing inside a woman. At least be straight with folks about what you promote so they can have the FACTS and not vacuous slogans and 'nice speak.' 'Family Planning is another canard. Abortion has 0 to do with family planning but it's easier to say that than killing an unborn human for convenience sake because you made a 'mistake.'

Finally, I'm not against a woman choosing to abort, just tell it like it is. You are killing a developing human life. Abortion has become an industry built on half truths and lies and supported by one political party. We are seeing now with the 'heartbeat' procedure where a pregnant woman has to see her baby in vitro that most of them choose not to kill that baby. Yet the cries about having women have to actually see what they are killing come in overwhelming waves from the Democrat-left.
