What, you actually started a thread without a homophobic or transphobic rant?

Okay, here's what I see being the main factors in a 2020 run.

1) What the state of the economy is. If it's like it is now, he stands a good chance of winning. If not, he's toast.
2) Does anyone in the GOP challenge him? Of the last three presidents who lost the white house, all three faced intraparty challengers.
3) What does Mueller come up with. If he implicates people close to Trump like Eric and Don Jr., that will hurt.
4) What will be the effect of changed voting rules.

Florida just restored felon voting rights. That will make it much more challenging to for any Republican. Wisconsin and Michigan just elected governors who will roll back some of the voter suppression antics of their predecessors.

And finally- 5) Who do the Democrats run.

Running Hillary would be a bad idea, not because she supports gay rights, but because she has a shitload of her own baggage that nullifies Trump's baggage.

On the other hand, if they run a Socialist in the mold of Crazy Bernie, they will probably hurt themselves there as well.

So let's assume the economy goes into the shitter next years, and the Never Trumpers run a challenger and they have an ugly floor fight. the Dems run a moderate, charismatic candidate like Booker or Devall Patrick
