Trumps "immunity" defence is punctured by the first question

The answer was the only one there is: The president would need to be impeached and removed prior to the criminal trial, presuming that the chain of command would follow through on such a heinous abuse of power.

The preposterously absurd question was asked in order to elicit exactly the hair-on-fire response were getting from the shitlibs.
The claim is the president has immunity. It is not a conditional immunity, it is not dependent upon the severity of the criminal action. It is immunity, period. The que stion was more than justified. And the argument is absolutely STUPID. I mean hell, why did Nixon step down, he had "immunity". You people are some really stupid mofos.

Well this would have changed things quite a bit. We wouldn't have had to put up with Biden as our president. The persecution we see now wouldn't be happening.

---Trump could order SEAL Team 6 to kill rivals and avoid prosecution---

Irrelevant.

Where does it say that a president can't be impeached AFTER the end of their term?

Gotta love watching Republicans move the Goalposts to meet your needs

Dont want to Impeach after Trump is President?
Claim you can’t do it

Need to claim Impeachment is needed before you can criminally convict an ex President?
Claim you can impeach anytime

Judge Florence Pan started off her questioning of Trump lawyer John Sauer by offering a novel scenario.

“Could a president who ordered SEAL Team Six to assassinate a political rival and was not impeached, could he be subjected to criminal prosecution?” Pan asked.

After some back and forth, Sauer said, “Qualified yes, if he’s impeached and convicted first.

This is not how democracies run. It is how imperial dictators run things. The US fought against this but perhaps the founders had not considered a trump when forming the constitution.

This is not how democracies run

We’re not a democracy…

Rump tried that with the 82nd. The sent troops to DC and Rump tried to use them for crowd control. What he got was, they had to come to DC but instead of manning the guns and attacking protesters, they sat down and played Spades and Pinochle. He did not meet the use of Federal Military for actions on US Soil.

The Seal Teams would also react the same way and only go as far on the orders short of the actual criminal act.

That was a hypothetical argument by the judge, kleetus....pointing out to Trump's lawyer that he was full of shit.

It was a bullshit argument.

Seal Team 6 would never carry out an illegal order.

Trump's lawyer should have had a better answer.

Utter bullshit and typical of leftoids.

However, playing along with the idiot Biden appointed judge, sure. Then the House impeaches and the Senate convicts, and per the Framers he could then be charged.

OTOH, that President could pardon himself before being removed and then no charges.

🤔 Øbama who ordered the drone killing of two American citizens comes to mind. But e didn't pardon himself. Oops.

Biden abused his power to extort Zelensky to fire Shokin. Biden got himself.

Biden had the backing of Prez Obama, the EU, the US Congress. IOWs he followed orders and showed what a great Statesman can do when he needed to.

Yes, it was a bullshit argument. You and I are in agreement.

Unfortunately for Trump and you MAGA morons, there is no "good" argument to justify Trump avoiding prosecution for his treasonous activities on Jan 6.

The panel is really just a waste of taxpayer money. 2 dems and 1 repub? Why even go through the process? Just make the decision that everyone already knows they are going to make, and save time and money.
