Understanding Christianity

This is not a debate of the validity of the Christian religion, but, an explanation of why they are "in your face"...

They aren't 'in your face'; it just appears that way to neurotics and assorted sexual deviants, criminals, and sociopaths; Christians make them all nervous.

Go therefore and make disciples...etc

This is the job of Christians as stated by Jesus, so, if you wonder why many Christians are "pushing" their agenda, this is one reason why

The other reason is the 2nd greatest commandment, to love others. Realize, to a Christian, the best way to show love to their fellow man is to tell them the "Good News", as they believe the life that really matters is the afterlife.. not this one on Earth

Except showing love to others appears to be "you don't have health insurance, screw you", "You're gay, screw you" and the like.

Why are homosexual fetishists ashamed of calling themselves homosexual fetishists if they really think they're not mentally ill degenerates; same question for their fellow mentally ill fashion victims who keep using the laughably false term 'gay'?

If folks would live by reason over faith they'd be living better in every respect.

People need to put on their big-boy-pants and not approach religion with their eyes wide shut. If people need religion to feel comfort, they need to find whats missing in their life, put on their big-boy-pants, and fix the problem.

People need religion to feel comfort? Says who? My faith tells me to pick up my cross daily, so don't talk to Christians about "big boy pants."

Religion is a philosophy, a code people choose to live by, especially during tough times.

Doesn't rational philosophy null religion as a philosophy?

Doesn't rational philosophy null religion as a philosophy?

There is a difference between people asserting there is no proof of God (proof requires physical material to measure) and faith based on reason. That is why when discussing God, it is best to take "proof" off the table because there can be no proof. Once that is dealt with, faith based on reason is a viable discussion.

Religion is for people who never got over finding out that Santa Claus wasn't real.
Actually it's not. It's for people who are unafraid to explore realms beyond the five senses. There are enough settlers--settling for what can be known by humans--and who have no interest in investigations that extend beyond.

How does the study of godlore further ones perception of the beyond?

Clearly you are gay.

Which is why I believe in God and not religion. Religion propagates godlore for economic reasons.

There are some proselyting groups in Christianity, but not all.

Catholics don't really proselyte and certainly not among other Christians.

Most Protestants don't either.

Nonsense

Your mission as a Christian is to spread the Good News. Jesus assigned the Disciples to spread the word.

To what end? A larger 'giving' congregation? It's all about the money.......fool!

They are free to push their agenda. However, they cannot claim oppression or prejudice when, after bringing their dogma into the public discourse, their ideas are scrutinized and criticized. Once Christians stop demanding this special privilege, I think you'll see the entire religion contract at a frantic pace.
Funny how Muslims can refuse to bake a cake.

I have no idea what point you tried to make, there.

"faith based on reason "

You can just call it "faith". No need to put a tuxedo on a turd.

How does a study of a map, or the study of history, assist travel and future decision-making? When people limit themselves to their own personal experiences, they become like a pond that has no water flowing in and no water flowing out. The pond stagnates.

Hypocrisy always flies over the heads of hypocrites.

Yes, your faith is a turd. A turd filled with hate.
No coincidence Islam and atheist faiths are so filled with hatemongers.
They both know they are wrong so lash out.

'Rationalism' is merely a cult itself, and 'rationalists' mostly fail at being rational, as we see in threads like these, just for starters.

Well, there is the disturbing fact that all church services end with howling mobs bursting out of the doors and roaming through the streets looking for homos and the uninsured to lynch and burn at the stake, true.
