Unemployment rate drops to 3.8%

I wonder how many jobs were created with the Frank Dodd Act?
Just what policies did Obama enact in his eight years to create jobs and strengthen our economy??
According to nuts on the right, policies aren't needed, just mere presence. You know, like how they claim Trump's been adding jobs even before being sworn in and passing policies.
The term "perception" from the election helped, the American people took a more positive attitude towards the economy.
Again.... according to some, policies aren't needed. Which only leads one to wonder why you're asking about Obama's policies when you freely admit that perception alone can tackle the problem?

Gotta look past your nose on that one, Faun. Being that the perception was that Trump is more business friendly that Obama was. Perception was that he would ease rugulations once he became president.....which he did.

That may have been your perception but yours alone doesn't speak for the country. The economy began getting better after Obama passed ARRA.

You're leaning on the ARRA? right......
The biggest help to our economy was the Fed Rate at near 0.....for 8 years.

No, I'm saying that's when the economy began turning around. There were many factors -- as you pointed out ... perception played a role.

Liberals keep claiming that they are only doing what we did to them regarding good economic news under Obama, but that is simply erroneous. Trump's recovery contains key aspects that were missing from Obama's recovery, such as a huge bump in manufacturing jobs, a sizable drop in the U-6 unemployment rate (it's now at a 17-year low), a huge increase in the return of American money parked overseas (thanks to the repatriation tax rate in the Trump tax cuts), an $80-$400 increase in net monthly pay for people in the third and fourth tax brackets, etc., etc.
Labor force participation is still really low, and trump said that is really bad.

Po Democrats, they were desperately hoping more folks would become unemployed. They craaazy. :cuckoo:

.,,at the peak of the recession and unemployment, public employee unemployment was unchanged at 3.8%.
I don’t think so:

Two things here:
The total UE rate is smoothed out to adjust for normal seasonal changes, while the government employee rate is not adjusted, so shows more ups and downs.

And 2010 was a Census year so a large number of people were hired as temporary census employees, and yet the unemployment rate for government workers still went up.

Note that military personnel are not included in either rate.

And when Trump was elected perception really spiked. Optimism took off even before he took office, it had nothing to do with Obama, it had everything to do with Trump. Look at the 10 year chart.

Payrolls rise by better than expected 223,000 in May, jobless rate drops to 3.8%

The U.S. economy continued to add jobs at a solid clip in May, with nonfarm payrolls up 223,000 while the unemployment rate was 3.8 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.

Economists had been expecting payroll growth of 188,000 and the jobless to hold steady at 3.9 percent.

The unemployment rate was last this low in April 2000.

There are lairs, damn liars and statistics. Keep this in mind when only one statistic is used to make a conclusion (which usually suits the narrative of the poster).

Q. How many are FT jobs
Q. How many offer health insurance and a retirement package
Q. How many are seasonal
Q. How many pay minimum wage
Q. How many pay a living wage
Q. How many include sick pay and vacation pay
Q. How many which once were Union Jobs are now jobs for self contractors.

That was a two month spike totaling an 11.5% jump.

Shortly after ARRA went into effect, Obama had a two month spike of 8.3%.

Trump bests Obama again just 2 years into his first term :eusa_clap:
If unemployment was trending downward under Obama, and it continued trending downward under trump, how is trump besting Obama? And why do you care so much? Low unemployment is a good thing. Toxic hateful rhetoric is not. See the op and his glee that the left will some how be hurt by low unemployment. That's unamerican behavior. Its certainly beta behavior wanting fellow Americans to be hurt.

Come on the clown Obama had 8 years, his anti jobs anti business policies were like a wet blanket hence both are taking off under Trump.
That's an incredibly dim perspective. Unemployment under Trump is just an extension of what was happening under Obama. You cant prove otherwise. There wasn't a light switch being flipped that said jobs were bad and now they're good unless you eat crayons and believe trumps lies.

We are talking about STATE public employees not federal and not military. The question is how did STATES spend the stimulus money, the answer is they spent it on STATE public employee payroll to avoid laying off STATE public employees. You seeing the pattern here, STATE level.

the unemployment rate was 3.8 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.
Donnie Dirt Bag himself says that number is FAKE!
He says the real number is the "not in labor force" total which increased by 170,000 causing the LFPR to drop another .1%
Donnie Dirt Bag's unemployment percent is due to loss of available workers.

JAN. 11, 2017 press conference
TRUMP: There will be a major border tax on these companies that are leaving and getting away with murder. And if our politicians had what it takes, they would have done this years ago. And you’d have millions more workers right now in the United States that are — 96 million really wanting a job and they can’t get. You know that story. The real number — that’s the real number.

Laughing Out Loud and Oh My Goodness! You are simply dishonest. When some conservatives cited the U-6 rate during the Obama years, you guys hollered up and down that it was "irrelevant," "meaningless," etc., etc. You insisted on just going by the U-3 rate. My, my, how times have changed. Of course, you insisted on ignoring the U-6 rate because it was historically high under Obama.

I have personally already shown you that the U-6 rate is at historically low levels. Right now it's at 7.6%. Do you know the last time it was that low? May 2001, 17 years ago. Under Obama, the U-6 was at 9%-plus for most of his presidency and only dipped below 8% one time (to 7.9% in October 2017).

By the way, the economy added 18,000 manufacturing jobs in May, another solid increase in this vital field.
Those were not manufacturing jobs. They were burger flipping jobs. I guess Trump figures making a hamburger counts as manufacturing

I'm sure you have a link on that.

Even if it were true, a burger job will make a heck of a lot more than a "shovel-ready" job....dumbass.
Hardly

Shovel Ready jobs were construction and roadwork jobs...$20 an hour plus

Trump Jobs pay minimum wage

Show where Trumps U6 unemployment drop is any different than Obama’s

Trump is merely benefitting from the economy the Great Obama kef5 him

Let’s see him deal with the worst recession in 70 years

Not nearly as significant as the optimism under the Great Obama

It stopped a Depression......Trump is merely continuing the Obama economy

What exactly did Obama do? Failed stimulus? Solyndra?
What happened was the natural cycle of the recession with the economy and market, if not for Obama's stifling policies the recession would have ended much ear;l

No he didn't....there was a recession and not a depression and there wouldn't have been a depression. He may have prolonged the recession with his business stifling policies.
Obama was the president when we came out of the recession, but that was the natural cycle of a recession...beginning/end.
The recession ended despite Obama.
