Votes must be counted by the end of Election Day.

It’s funny to see those who “disagree”....disagree with what? Facts? History?
The elections have been 'called' by AP on the same day for the most part, and the apparent loser concedes, though Gore and probably Biden will be the exception.

This is the first election where neither side agrees to concede on election day and will fight it out in court.

The thing is, I think Trump will have such a large margin of victory it won't matter and the election will still get called within a couple of days, certainly by COB Friday, probably not even that late.

So you don't mind taking the time to actually count the votes?

It is scary the amount of people after this couldn't be bothered, including Trump..
The machines that are used are state of the art and are digital; it really doesn't take that long.
I'm sure the ballots already returned have been counted, leaked to the media and the media is freaking out.

massive voter fraud brought to us by Dems
Prove it or shut the fuck up.
Temper, temper young whatever. No need to go all gender bender on me

Just a few. Should I go on? Because I can :slap:

Or must they?

Donald Trump at a rally in Iowa “We should know the result of the election on November 3rd, the evening of November 3rd. That’s the way it's been and that's the way it should be."

Except when it’s not. In fact...it has never been that way.

There has never been a requirement...or even an expectation that all ballots be tabulated by the end of Election Day. And they usually are not. It typically takes longer to count absentee ballots, which, by law, are just as valid as any other.

So if you want to know the way it has really always been, don’t listen to Trump who’s goal is to disenfranchise mail in voters.

For starters, no state ever reports its final results on election night.

Typically, news outlets are able to declare winners the night of the election using partial counts and exit polls, which allow them to see how much of the vote is going to which candidate and calculate whether a candidate still has a path forward to win.

Each state has its own laws for when it needs to certify the election results, and none falls on Election Day.

Delaware is the only state that will certify its results within the same week as Election Day. Most states will certify their results in the last two weeks of November, with some states even extending until the second week of December.

Additionally, polls don't even close in California, Oregon, Idaho and Washington until 11 p.m. ET, and Hawaii's polls don't close until midnight on the East Coast.

What's the point of an "election day" if all the votes aren't counted on that day?

You know most of the world doesn't start to count until the next day...

Goto polls on day one and count starts the next day 9 am...

So true ... They can most certainly make the poor choice not to ensure their ballot makes it where it needs to be on time ...

voting by mail.jpeg

The problem is this stupid mail in voting. In PA, they are accepting ballots up to three days after the election which should be against the law. Everybody is predicting PA will be the real decider, and that it will be a close election. We might not find out until next week or longer who actually won unless it's a blowout one way or another.
I am not predicting PA will be the decider. I can certainly say that Trump will have won it by the end of the election day, whether democrats will even bother with the cheating attempts knowing they will lose no matter what is a good question.
But if they do, I can't wait for them to get caught and jailed.
Trump does not need PA to win. If he wins all the other states he won in 2016, other than MI, WI, PA and MN, all he needs is one of those four and he wins again.

Indeed, and Trump will win much bigger this time.

He will! :2up:

In 2000, we waited almost 5 weeks until the SC had to "declare" a winner. Couple of days doesn't seem like a whole lot.

Except they weren't the ones to declare a winner. Gore's judges in Fla decided they were going to participate in judicial legislation. When it got to the Supreme Court, they sent their decision back asking them WTF did they think they were doing? Of course the Fla judges couldn't explain their illegal actions, so they just dropped it.

Just as good as declaring a winner. Like it or not.
And before you think the SC will deliver you a "Trump" victory based on whatever BS his lawyers decide to spew.
Remember, the SC may not even take it up. Game Over. :)
You do realize that the sheer number of Rs showing up to vote since yesterday proves the pollsters are full of shit.

And they voted for who?
Exactly. They could have voted for Biden....and you'll never know if they did. :)
I have yet to meet, in person, or on my national Facebook page an R who is voting for Biden.
Everyone from Trades people to professionals are working and making good money.

I have met, and still meet, in person, and on my national Facebook page Ds who are voting for Trump.
It's the next 4 years of economic growth that matters to them...they have bills to pay.

Or must they?

Your impatience must necessarily take a back seat to a citizen's right to have their vote counted.
Explain tactically why anyone who can request a mail-in ballot at least 2 months before a certain date cannot return by that stated date.

TDS Alert!

FACT: We should know the results of the election by the end of the day on November 3. November 3 is the Federally-mandated ELECTION DAY.

FACT: We may not know the result of the election by the end of the day on November 3. It is likely that several states will be decided by razor-thin margins, and some states, like Pennsylvania, are facilitating Democrat shenanigans that could enable manufacturing of votes AFTER ELECTION DAY.

There is no conflict between the second and third paragraphs above. But I wouldn't expect Leftists to understand that.

TDS - Trump Disinformation Syndrome

Fact: no state ends it’s counting of ballots by midnight Election Day, nullifying the rest.

Fact: No state certifies it’s election results by the end of the Election Day.

Fact: there is no mandate that requires all votes to be tallied by close of Election Day. It is up to individual states.

It's nonsense intended to pack the vote at the last second.
The bad for Ls is that they blew their load too early; it's called emotional disturbance.

The problem is that it was ruled by a judge they can do this, so there's nothing really illegal about it. If Biden loses by a slim margin, those lowlifes could mail in their ballot Wednesday morning and it will still be counted as a legitimate vote. From what I gather, the judge even said postmarks don't mean anything.
The rules are the rules.

All legal lawful votes need to be counted

Typical Dems, always taking things out of context.
Yes, most every time throughout history we've known the results on election night, and you know thats exactly what he meant.
Now it might not be the exact (official) count for each state, as they have to count the remaining (irrelevant) votes, but we typically we know on election night, or first thing in the morning.
Exactly how are the remaining votes “irrelevant”? We typically “know” when most of the votes are counted at the end of the day, but there times before when that was not the case.

Then how are they able to announce the winner that evening?

They don't... They announce who they think is going to win... It is not even close to offical....

There is a returning officer who is in charge of the count gives the actual results....

US is very machine count focused but other places the the returning officer announcement of results is a big thing of the count...

The US tradition is very new and was basically set up for TV...

They didn't declare anybody a winner. They just wanted to know why the judges decided they were going to bypass the state law of all ballots being delivered and certified within five days recount or not. The commie judges ruled that since it's their boy Al Gore, they can take all the time they wanted for recounts. In any case, when all was settled and done, news agencies reported that Bush had more votes than Gore anyway.

As for the Supreme Court, it all depends on what claim Trump or Biden make. If they feel a law was possibly violated, then they will hear the case to decide that, just like they did with the Bush/Gore race.

The votes past the election day will primarily be democrat fraud votes. And if republicans aren't dumb, republican fraud votes as well.

For starters the votes are in the mail... That is OK... Postmarked and everything...

What is the hurry about the count... Many countries can take a few days counting... Counting all the votes should be the priority...

This...and even suggesting they properly counted should disturbing to American.
