Walter Williams: Why the Founders Did Not Want a Democracy

Historically, constitutional republics have included elected officials at some level, including the Roman Republic.
.

I didn't say that Constitutional Republics cannot contain elected officials whether they be democratically elected or otherwise.
I simply stated that a Constitutional Republic is not required to have Democratically Elected Representatives.

It's neither necessary nor practical to try and find something to argue with ...
Especially when it would accomplish nothing in regard to the original statement I made in the thread ... :auiqs.jpg:

That's the point I keep trying to make about people who insist on getting lost in the weeds trying to fight with other people
about nothing of consequence.

It's really easy to go into a rally pretending to support a specific party just to make that party look bad to the democrat communist controlled media. It's what democrats operatives specialize in.
Is that how you do it? Interesting that that shows how you think. :heehee:

😄

Maybe if you took that Founder cock out of your mouth, ignore the propaganda you've been spoon fed all your life and thought about it for a moment you might understand why a group of land owning elites wanted to make sure the government was managed by those same land owning elites and that the "mob" they were afraid of were all the people who they denied the right to vote. It's honestly sad how many of you clowns idolize people who didn't think most of you should have had a say in shit. 😄
Maybe if you weren't such an obnoxious, pseudointellectual, collectivist 'tard you might comprehend the value of limiting the franchise to persons of landed property.

I gave a link with direct quotes from the people who founded this country and wrote the Constitution. You can piss and moan all you want the US is still a Constitutional Republic.
I'm not disagreeing that it is you that this is a Constitutional Republic you dipshit, I'm explaining how little I give a shit for the opinion of slavers. But let me help you out. This is Merriam- Websters definition of Democracy is thus

1a : government by the people especially : rule of the majority. b : a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections. 2 : a political unit that has a democratic government.

See item b? Sure as shit sounds a lot like us don't it? We can be both a Constitutional Republic and a Representative Democracy. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive.

.

Wait until you figure out that there are really only three forms of government,
and all the others in one way or another fall under those three.

Oligarchy, Republic, Anarchy

.
In terms of real-world practicalities, there be truth in that there statement!

Oh I comprehend the benefit to the land owning elites just fine I'm just not such a sycophant fan boy that I give a shit that the Jeff Bezos's and Elon Musks of their time thought their desires should monopolize the interests of government.

Look at it this way. The mob at that time was uneducated, superstitious, and easily manipulated by con artists and grifters. You know, like todays Neo-GOP sheep. Maybe the founders weren't all wrong.

Coming from such as yourself, a cultist, I'm not so devastated. :heehee: It's like Hitler trying to denigrate me.
See, when you say shit like calling me Hitler, you really fall on your face. You're dead and don't even know it.

You need to work on your reading comprehension as well as your American History. I did not call you Hitler. Hitler is dead. You are not dead.

From the party that allows illegals to vote. Fascinating.
