Ever wonder if these people have it so bad where they come from, how is it they can travel hundreds to thousands of miles to get here?
Who is helping them "hoof it" here?
Who is feeding them along the way?
How come it's about 80% males of military serving age?
How do they get across the oceans to get here?
Why is Mexico letting them enter there and then pass them on across our border.

This situation has aspects of asymmetrical warfare where one infiltrates a "fifth column" into a nation to undermine it's economy, stir unrest, and lay in wait to furnish/fuel and insurrection. Sanctuary cities and states could be seen as entering into treaty with foreign powers, which is prohibited by the Constitution, and skirting the edge of treason.

A less expensive solution than currently used would be to load them onto planes and ships, haul them back to their country of origin, drop them off with a rifle and a couple hundred rounds of ammo and tell them to fix their own country.

The solution remains making the US a hostile place for illegal immigrants to be. That includes making jobs hard to get by having penalties for companies that don't vet employees with a functional database, and it could/should provide for expedited removal, and permanent ban, of any illegal immigrant already here who is arrested for minor crimes or stopped for a basic driving violation.

"The wall" was actually a throw away line from a Trump Bannon rally, and it caught on with the public. And it IS a tangible image people can have. But you're right that in places that are miles from any road of services, manned patrols aren't as cost-effective as drones .... and hellfire missiles for those who don't comply with messages to stop in place while awaiting border patrol agents to escort them to jails pending deportation, permanently.

Then E-verify will need to be improved significantly and used by all employers.

Hellfire missiles are very expensive for anti-personnel use. A drone armed with a 7.62 or 5.53 mm machine gun to fire a couple of rounds would be more cost effective.

Note that a wall/fence in areas far from service roads also means that if they get across to here, how do they get a ride out of the boonies?
