Was government correct in closing down many activities during COVID

Research conducted by those who are in line with the lockdown crowd. You believe it ? Seriously ?
You are a very small minded person. You only look at the USA and you only listen to MAGA media.
The information is aggregated for all countries. It measured the amount of preventive actions, like masking and shut down of some aspects of society with no actions and everything in between.
You blame all the faults on the US Government.
How did the US government effect other countries and what they did and their results.

Small minded people can only undersatand simplistic causes.

No the government might have honestly believed this was necessary at the beginning of covid but it turned into a power grab by them as they feel in love with having that kind of power and control over peoples lives.
What about what other countries did. What was their reasons?

99.7 percent of the people who caught it survived. The lockdown costed lives and ripped the economy. Dems were over joyous at the economy exploding.
That's not completely true.

2-6% died. (Hard to tell as the numbers became so politicized nobody was issuing consistent statistics)

20% of those who caught covid but survived have experienced "long covid" symptoms.
Of those who had long covid a high percentage have not been able to return to work.

It depends on how you measure what was a good response. If it is about lives, it was a good response.
The problem is, if it was about lives, it was a horrible response.

More lives have been lost, and more lives have been permanently harmed, by the policy.

Of course not. COVID was a flu. The deaths from COVID were inflated by car accident, heart attacks, cancer and any other form of death that afflicts humanity. I know personally of a motorcycle accident in which the rider slammed into an SUV and the death was COVID related.

The deaths were deliberately inflated by taking those sick with the flu and putting them in retirement homes and assisted living centers knowing the residents would be particularly susceptible to the flu. See how many people died of COVID!

The lockdowns were specifically designed to break us financially. Thousands of people lost their jobs. Thousands of businesses closed. Democrat state governors took pride in doing as much harm to their state's economy as possible. Whitmer of Michigan forbid the buying of seeds, floral or vegetable as gardening was illegal. Even in one's own backyard. Newsom flaunted his knowledge that it was all a hoax by closing all restaurants except the ones he wanted to go to. His Aunt, Nancy Pelosi closed all hair salons except when she wanted to go. When the stylist complained that the lock down wasn't even necessary, Pelosi had her entire business closed permanently.

Over and over again democrats seemed to take a special delight in making the lockdowns as painful as possible. Thowing the hoax in our faces and demanding we comply when they (knowing it was faked) did not .

Was government correct in closing down many activities during COVID.

It depends if your focus is lives or money

Research suggests that the adoption of lockdowns in the initial COVID surge helped contain transmission and deaths, albeit at high economic and social costs.

I support saving lives. Lives do not come back, the economy does.

Hate of humanity

In home quarantines are a means for the Government to shift blame....

And there's a reason why I say this.

As people quarantine many people tend to go "crazy" from not having enough social interaction reminding them of what sane behavior actually is. We have seen some of this as people have embraced conspiracy theorists regardless of whether they were coherent or logical. (Some conspiracies are actually true and have been true for some time).

Lizard people?
Flat Earth?
No lunar landing?

Of course the sheer volume of conspiracy theories surrounding the pandemic were always going to be outrageous and with no facts. We literally had janitors from the hospital writing research papers and claiming they were peer reviewed and then cited and quoted by Legacy Media.

You quarantine the ill, not the healthy.

They should have locked down Wuhan. If once they realized it had escaped Wuhan, they should have closed the borders of China. If once it had escaped from there, you quarantine city by city, nation by nation.

After that? You are screwed.

You quarantine infected areas, not healthy areas.

Not quarantining healthy people is to keep society going.
Quarantining healthy people is the OPPOSITE. :eusa_whistle:

You know what the biggest fuck-up was?

Trump refusing to enact testing and contact tracing at the very beginning. He allowed the virus to run rampant and completely unimpeded. He gave the plague a MASSIVE head start.

Here's our stable genius in action: "If we didn’t do any testing, we would have very few cases.”

All that mattered to the idiot was numbers. So, hey, let's not do testing because then we will have very few cases! :banghead:

Dumbest. President. EVAH!

Teens suicide rates skyrocketed. But we saved some elderly and obese.

I don’t call that a good trade off.

It was a cold for almost everyone.
