You might be right.
When was this better?

Ummm, since the job participation rate is worse than it has been in 38 years, the answer to your question would be 'AT ANY TIME DURING THE LAST 37 YEARS'.

Okay.

In the past the government generally absorbed a lot of that work force either through "make work" programs like infrastructure building or in Federal Jobs like Mail Carriers.

Our current congress isn't allowing any of that to take place.

Even Reagan, after his tax cuts didn't work, spent like crazy to lower the Unemployment rate, mainly in the military.

What's your proposal?

Man, Obama is the worst job killer ever. Totally incompetent
I know. He just deep sixed Keystone. That killed about 30 or 40 jobs at least!
You do know up here where the pipeline was supposed to run thru, most land owners were against the pipeline because of eminent no other reason??
They don't like the federal government telling them what too do...

government, those oil leases are all on private property, the federal government has no influence up here in the Dakotas.
So you're claiming the Keystone pipeline would produce no US jobs, despite the studies and reports that say otherwise?

liberals are complete, self-deceiving jackasses. thse are the same douchebottles that tried to count the temporary Census workers and summer lifeguards in the numbers, but here this idiot is saying a thousand-mile long pipeline will only need a handful of full-time workers to operate and maintain

libs are losers who lie to themselves

before i address your irrelevant, pathetic excuse above first admit you were wrong, and lied.

How terribly miserable conservatives must be to see so many people doing so well. How they must pine for the days of Bush with the 10% unemployment, the bailouts, the outing of CIA agents for political gain, and the donning of flight suits and hanging of banners on aircraft carriers.

Ahh, the good ol' Bush days, just like the 50's.

Why do people whine about the fact we feed more poor people, more hungry people, more disabled people, more veterans, more seniors and more children better today than we did under the last administration? Should we feel guilty about doing the right thing as a nation? And what makes conservatives such mean-spirited grumpy people.
It's not that we do,its why,rather simple
My post began with the word why. Thanks for the stupid answer, but it did not answer the question I asked.
Guess it went over your stupid head

Didn't lie about anything and I wasn't wrong.

Part of those numbers include retirees, the crippled and the mentally ill.

So what's the dish?

How would you fix this?

Final solution or something like that?

Well come up with a monthly jobs report that was better..

That's the problem - Obama is only interested in painting a 'better' picture instead of the REAL one and doing something about it.

Do you really think 5% is the real unemployment number??

The labor department says 40.6% of the population over 16 is unemployed... And Bernie sanders says the real unemployment number is 10.5%.
Somewhere in between, take your pick...

YAWN
how sad it must be to lie to yourself on a daily basis. literally millions ARENT DOING WELL and the self-deluding reports from the obama administration arent counting these people.

but hey any loser can just spout some sanctimonious bullshit about how others dont care about people when HE is the one not counting the people HIS OWN PARTY'S POLCIES ARE LEAVING BEHIND.

it's much easier to spew some bullshit than to man up and tell the truth

Everyone does of course realize hiring usually picks the closer we get to the Christmas season.
